Ask a Question
Are you wearing pantyhose?

My mother keeps pressuring me to wear pantyhose b/c she says "They make your legs look nice." I don't usually wear pantyhose, but will put them on occasionally if I were a skirt to work (very rare). Are you or did you wear stockings with your wedding day paraphernalia?

I wouldn't wear stockings unless it was a winter wedding. If you're getting married in the warm months, there is no use in wearing pantyhose. Fist, if you're wearing a long dress, no one will see your legs. Second, if you're worried about having nice looking legs, just pamper 'em, and they'll look lovely. Get 'em waxed, moisturize twice daily, and consider using a false tanning lotion to even out their complexion. There are even products like airbrushed legs that you spray on to make 'em look nice.
Pantyhose is so 1989. Don't do it unless it's to keep warm.

I haven't decided yet. I know I'll definitely wear them with my reception dress- I NEVER wear a skirt without hose... it looks so unpolished to me- but my ceremony gown is *so* hot that it might be easier to not bother and just slip them on once I'm getting changed. I haven't quite decided when to change into the reception dress though, and I'm a little worried about people seeing my legs during the garter toss if I don't have 'hose on. The more than likely answer- yes, I'll probably be wearing them.

More than likely I won't.  I typically don't wear them unless I am in that mood.  Right now I am thinking I like the idea of wearing them, but I know I am going t be wearing open toe shoes, and I HATE the way the toes look with stockings and open toe shoes.  So, basically I am no help to you.

ooooh and just thought about wearing them when I take my shoes off and slipping around on the dance floor with no shoes on with the wedding gown, now that could be for a fun time, lol.

No I'm not going to. I haven't worn pantyhose in a really long time and like other posters said your dress is long and imagine having to go to the bathroom.

I hate pantyhose.. My whole life growing up my mom made me wear pantyhose.. So NO ,lol, I am not wearing pantyhose! I dont see the need, no one sees your legs anyways until the garter part! even then, I think your FH would rather touch your soft skin than pantyhose! lol

No way! I hate pantyhose. There's no way I'm going to be uncomfortable in it on my big day! Its your day, don't let anyone pressure you into something you don't really feel like doing!

I honestly think panyhose are so old school...I don't like them at all...not cute. I'm getting married in Nov & I still dont plan to wear them. I plan on making my legs look nice that day by spray tanning:) especially if your planning on wearing open toed heals.

No way!  Why would you need them under a long dress?  I think they'd be waaaay too hot, unless it happened to be a really cold day.

I swear, like wtf? I'm definitely wearing hose! (Actually, I bought a really nice(!) pair of Victoria's Secrat stockings for my wedding.)  I wear hose literally every day (even with jeans, shorts, etc.) and I'm a stay-at-home mom. It's not a 1980's thing either, thank you very much!!!. I like to look respectable and like a LADY!  American women are so frickin' LAZY these days! Just think, you spend all this money and time picking out a dress, etc, but you want to have your pasty white legs showing. Yeah, sometimes it is hot, but that's the price you pay to look beautiful sometimes. but they make your legs look 1000 times better. I get crap all the time about wearing hose, but I just think "what a bunch of sleazebags". I want to look EXTRA good for my man, ESPECIALLY on my wedding day. I don't know where this anti-hose ethos came from, but it has to go. Plus, it drives the guys NUTS! My fiance loves it too, he thinks it's so sexy that I choose to buck the system and always comments on how nice I look. I'd really like to see hose be "fashionable" again and help bring some respectability back to being an American woman. Get with it girls.

Carrie,

While I do appreciate your stance on the matter, I do not agree with your belief that women that don't wear pantyhose are lazy or sleazy.  I'm sure that many ppl after reading your post about wearing stockings with jeans and shorts will think that you are soulful.  Is it ok for them to feel this way?  Yes.  Is it ok for them to insult you?  No.

What a man likes is subjective and depends on that man?  My FI is not a fan of pantyhose.  Of course, that doesn't stop me from wearing them.  I said that to say, just because your man likes it doesn't mean that every other man in the world will like it.

I just had to put that out there.  I'm not really sure if others will be offended by what you posted.  Honestly, I was slightly offended, but I try not to let situations like this get to me.  I hope you have a good day!!

No, I'm not going to wear one. First, I don't like them much. Second, I'm going to have heena design on my feet and legs so don't wnat to cover that.

Unless your wearing a short dress why wear stockings?

I hate stockings. I never wear them. Just make sure your legs are shaved for the wedding night and the garter toss and your good to go!!! :) :)
