Who's walking you down the aisle?

In Honor of Father's Day I wanted to post a pic of me and my daddy and tell you ladies a little bit about the best daddy a little ghetto girl from the westside of Chicago could ever ask for.

Clarence "Sonny" Thomas was the 1st man to ever love me, 1st man to hold my hand, 1st man I ever kissed and the 1st man that stole my heart. I am a "Daddy's Girl" and have been since the day I was born. Me and my daddy have a very tight bond, he has always been there for me and loved me unconditionally. I could write a book about how wonderful my daddy is. I just love him so much and my FH has so many of his wonderful qualities.

So of course he's walking me down the aisle on wedding day and I'm so excited about it, I'm sure it will be very emotional for the both of us. I'm his last daughter to get married. He's has walked so many people down the aisle. My 2 sisters and my 2 cousins. But now it's my turn.

I decided that me and my daddy would surprise everybody at the wedding reception and do a special dance. Our father daughter dance will start off with Beyonce's song "Daddy" (this song says me and my daddy in every way) but midway through the song we'll stop and start a dance routine off of James Brown "Papa's got a brand new bag", this will be especially funny because everybody knows that my daddy loves James Brown and at all the family functions has to dance just like James Brown so we're gonna incorporate that into our dance. I can't wait, people are gonna be so shocked. They're gonna be talking about it for years to come.

This is a very sad Father's Day because it's the 1st one that I don't get to see my daddy. I'm in NJ and he's in Chicago, I miss him so much but we talk all the time. He got his gift on Friday and was very appreciative.

Happy Father's Day Daddy you deserve to be honored. I love you and I miss you!

My father is walking me.  He worked offshore, so he was always in three weeks out three weeks type thing.  Even though he was only there half of the time, I've always been his little girl.  He was offshore for my sister's wedding, so this will be his first time giving a daughter away.  He's even wearing a "monkey" suit for me...he hates dressing up!  Lol.

I'm walking alone. As a little girl, I always pictured my granddad walking me down the aisle. When he passed away, I decided my uncle (mum's brother) would do it since was closer to him than I was my own dad. I'm not close with my dad at all. Now that my uncle's also passed, I don't want anyone to walk with me. I don't feel comfortable with the idea of my dad or anyone else doing it, and as much as I know my mum wants to, she also respects my wishes. I'm pinning a locket to my bouquet that'll have the photographs of my granddad & uncle in it.

awww that was really sweet what you wrote!  I plan on having my dad and maybe my  mom.  My parents are divorced and each have played a role in my life---so it would mean a lot to have them both walk me down the aisle.

My dad is walking me down the aisle. Despite our in and outs he has been in my life from the day I was born til now.. I am thankful he is still in my life and done so much for me and him and my mom are together about 30 yrs now.
Its gonna be an emotional day.
