Best experience...

Ok, the pic is obviously NOT my dress...it's not even my dog ! But it's uber cute!

Anyway... I just wanted to share the story of finding my dress. I am totally afraid to post the real pic just in case FH ever saw this blog and saw the dress!

Being a bride on a tight budget, I knew i would not be spending a few $K on my dress. My sister and I went to a few bridal shops looking though the "sale" or "sample" racks. As you would expect, MOST of the dresses were on sale for obvious reasons (bleck) or were very young looking for me (I'm 30-something). There were a few that were OK but no show stoppers.

Then I found a link through Facebook to a lady with a shop in Airdrie, Alberta called "Taffeta and Tulle". Let me tell you, she was amazing and it was an amazing experience. She actually sat me and my sister down when we went for my appointment and asked about me and all about the wedding (theme, season, etc). She then took us into her very pretty "bridal" room and started pulling dresses. She told me she had one in mind that she thought would be perfect for me but she wouldn't tell me which one it was at the beginning.

The trick to her shop is that she gets dresses wholesale from the manufactures (yes, brand names) and may only get 1 type of that dress in 1 size and she can't order more. So, basically she shows you what she has in stock in your size and if you LOVE it, you take it home that day! Her selection of dresses was amazing and they are all current and gorgeous. There were no nasty, ugly, 10-year-old-no-one-wants-me, style dresses! In fact, MY dress in currently available from the manufacturer and is on the "current collection" on their website. It's also from a designer in the UK that NO ONE in Canada carries so it's totally one of a kind! My dress is totally perfect, gorgeous, fit like a glove (NO alterations required) and yes, you guessed it, it WAS the one she thought I would love in the first place!!!!

Now if THAT hasn't sold this story already, this will (you should sit down for this part):

ALL THE DRESSES SHE CARRIES ARE $699 OR LESS!!!!!!

It's true, dresses that are new and gorgeous and would be $2000+ are a max of $699. WOW! If you are a Canadian bride and can possible get to Airdrie, Alberta I HIGHLY recommend Taffeta and Tulle. Make an appointment, and be prepared to buy it if you love it! Best of luck!!!!
