I just received a phone call from Donna, the owner of Donna K bridal located on Oak Park ave. in Tinley park Illinois. She is going out of business after 33 years... How sad. :(
She called to tell me that dress I have been looking at will be 1/2 off NOT including tax..all her dresses will be 1/2 off in fact. My dress would be $282.50 Any brides in the area who are looking for a deal on a dress be sure to check her out. You can tell her Shayne sent you to. I told her I would call her back on my dress, it is the one pictured. She carries a TON of Dere Kiang gowns. This dress was like a size to big, alterations can get costly so it may not be worth it for me, but to someone else it may!! xoxox |

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
So, Last week I contacted a dress maker to see if possible I could get a dress made combining the 2 designs I love.
Dress one I adore a few elements. 1-the fabric. It is a super light taffeta and very comfortable 2-The bust. I am small chested and this bust looks fab on me! 3- From under the bust to my hips give me real shape. Now dress 2 Is the trumpet style from Davids Bridal I adore the shape of this dress. The fabric is heavy and when I tried to sit in this dress, I had to lean and fall back in the chair lol. I am not fond of how the bust comes to points and it doesnt "flow" as well as the 1st dress does. My thought was - If I could make Dress one pictured into a trumpet gown that has the elements and class as dress pictured in 2, I would be SET. It would be the perfect dress!! It would be comfortable and everything I would want in a dress, best of all..it would be CUSTOM made, one of a kind just for me. So the seamstress got back to me.. OMG ONLY 500 BUCKS!!!!!!! The Davids dress off the rack was that price!! I AM SHAKING!! lol Thats an unbelievable deal..and it would be custom made, so no alterations.. OHHH what do I do???? I have a local bridal salon ordering me a few more samples that will be in by Friday and I want to try them on as well. As I said before, I feel like I have missed out on some beautiful dresses by focusing only on my theme.. I will try on the ones coming in.. The seamstress said the fabric is available now however I cant even start an order till November.. I can not BELIEVE how cheap this is!! Some of you brides need to look into his maybe. Obviously my dresses dont contain bead work etc. which I know helps on the price but wow. Custom for 500 bucks. Cant go wrong there..now I just have the fear of committing on it. After Friday and I try on the other samples I will then know..because I have worn myself out at every bridal salon.. I will say I am blessed I found this salon that I am going back to next week. This woman is wonderful and so kind. The business is run out of her home so she gives you 100%..her husband even came in as I tried things on just to say OH WOW!! They are great. Her prices are pretty reasonable and a few I really liked she was saying I can take 100 off this one, 200 off this one and so on..However even with that off I am still averaging a grand with her dresses (designers) Well 899.00 but we all know where that will go lol.. BLAH What to do?? I was so set on this damn THEME of mine and the bridal salon got me looking at different more romantic styles that I have fallen in love with as well. I will add the FH said if you can get dress one made into dress 2, it would be the PERFECT dress on you *sigh* |

NWR- High School FOOTBALL!!
freaking out!!!
So...tomorrow is my sons football game (9am) He had his 1st game last week but it was in such a bad area, I did not want to bring the kids..so tomorrow is a home game and this will be the first time I see him play..
After watching the Varsity game tonight, I may throw up or have anxiety LOL!! I am use to Cheerleading, Baseball and Gymnastics..FOOTBALL? OMG, I am having fears of seeing my son get hit and laid out on the field not moving..OMG!!!!!! I am FREAKING OUT lol I wont tell him though, don't want him to make fun of me. The FH said oh relax..yeah easy for YOU. I gave birth to that child.. OH GOD IM FREAKING OUT!! He plays saftey.. lets see how safe it is hahaha! On the plus side, his Father will be at the game. Hes been a paramedic for 15 years and it also an ER tech hahahaha Last week, AFTER the game..the coach told the kids NOT to mess around..One kid replied "OK COACH!" and then did a cart-wheel..he BROKE HIS ARM!! It was at like a 90 degree angel OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok I am done lol Wish me luck tomorrow hahahah!! |

Here is from todays try on's. I have to say NONE of these pics do the dresses any justice at all.
I also decided, that I may be missing out on some wonderful dresses by sticking to my "theme" so I said screw it, lets try on a few. I was there 3 hours lol Can always change my theme can't I? lol Nothing will be purchased until November so who knows lol The lady also ordered 2 more samples for me to try on..those will be in next week!! I have to say, this woman was WONDERFUL..best experience I have had by far since I started dress shopping. Any dress I get will be in white. The one sample coming is in like the 1st dress posted but has a different detail under the bust, more crystals. The last dress was stunning, it was ivory lace with a blush underneath.. The pics dont do it justice. More styles I never tried on before that I never would of..with good results!! :) |

So I am thinking of cutting costs on the centerpieces..
I wanted the ostrich feathers in the tall vase, however with at least 25 tables..ewww may be a little pricey. I am thinking the square vase with a deep red rose, adding some clear rocks with the light in the vase as well, maybe adding some feathers to that... where can I find a place for fake flowers in bulk without killing me $$ wise? I want a deep red like in the picture Any links posted would be appreciated!! |

I found my venue!!
Holiday Inn/Tinley Park Convention Center
This is perfect. They are in the process of remolding, so the floral carpet will be replaced with a putty gray color. I am sold!! There is even a restraunt/bar that is connected to the hotel where the bar is open till 2am for more partying and a sit down brunch ;) excited!! He says its a GO!! We book this November!! YES!! The Patio is WONDERFUL. They have told me they will string the rails in lights for FREE as long as I bring them..heres another kicker..if I bring my centerpiece and do a table set up, they will put together the centerpieces and do the set up as i wish from a picture. Now I dont have to put 30 centerpieces together, JUST ONE!! In the reception A photo you see a wall to the right, that will will not be there and it will be opened up to reception room B. Their in the process of a remodel, so the ugly carpet will be gone..it will be a gray carpet with flecks of color. They already took down the floral wallpaper and put up a soft non patterned tan color. The chandeliers will b e changed as well to a more art deco she said..very cool!! In the Hotel/Center connection. You see to the left the banquet hall entrance and to the right is the hotel..it is all connected by one long hallway, you can see it in the hall to hotel pic.. IM THRILLED!! |
