We've pushed back the date
Hello to all of my Brides and Brides-to-be, yes it's true.. July just wasn't happening with all of the paperwork and my kids finishing school and graduations.
OH and I've changed from Blue to GREEN!!! Yes, random but I didn't like the shades of blue that the Dressmaker had in stock material-wise, so I went with GREEN with SILVER and GOLD accents. So the Intended(Muslim way of saying Fiance) and I have made the decision to push the month back from July to September. We'll be doing a month of fasting for the entire month of August, so during this time isn't even a option..then after we will celebrate with Eid, basically we are looking at the 3rd to 4th weekend of September insha'Allah (God willing). So I'll be back more often since some of the stress levels have eased..at least I have a time-frame to work with (((((((((((at lastttttttt)))))))) *hugz ladies* |

Surprise!!
I was invited to a "Pot Luck" which my friend (Sister) Maria was holding, I was soo stressed and anxious to attend and almost changed my mind last minute.. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!
After getting out of my truck and following Maria and Aaliyah(my daughter) upstairs I kinda heard them whispering behind me..but I paid it no mind as they are close and familia-like. When I entered the room my mouth hit the floor and my eyes started to tingle and burn(partially due to allergies..). I was so overwhelmed by the kindness and love that Maria put into planning my special event. She even ordered me a red velvet cake iced in white with purple damask decorations topped with purple flowers!!! P-U-R-P-L-E She had my favorite color PURPLE all over the place!! I was sooo happy!! And after hugging and looking around.. we sat to eat..then I was told that the Henna Artist was on her way.. yeah!!! I had one arm done gold and silver and the other in purple and gold and the other done in another color scheme.. BOTH were so beautiful!! THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS for me no doubt!! |

I didn't really think that we will opt for buying several cameras and will ask our guests to take pictures of the event..and go from there..but who knows..I might.. I mean we..yeah, we might change our minds..lol

Well a girl can dream...right?!
So for those who will be moving to America the following entry of my wedding blog might help a bit.. Okay so us the Brides to be will need to apply for a K1 VISA, this is a temporary VISA and will be valid only for ninety (90) days, be sure to take notes of details about your Fiance and also any related receipts of any. If you have children from a previous marriage/relationship and they are under the age of 21 years old AND unmarried.. you will have to apply for a K2 VISA, the children only have up to one month (1) to follow you into America if you aren't travelling at the same time.. Hello lovely Ladies!!
(sighs) it's been a rough couple of weeks Where to begin?? Well we almost lost one of my Aunts when she lost control of her car and it slammed into the side of a home with a Father and daughter who were in it reading a book and surfing the internet, we were so thankful that we didn't lose her although she was BADLY injured. Then I got a note from my cousin in England to tell me that my baby cousin(her Father is my Aunt's *the same one who got the accident above son) died suddenly not even 5hrs prior to, then not even 90hrs later another relative sadly left our familia NOT TO MENTION 3 relatives almost losing their lives due to undiagnosed illnesses... IT WAS THE WORST 2 weeks of my life in a very long time. I just had to pull back and gather my thoughts and emotions because my head was all over the place to put it lightly. So yes, in a nutshell this is my update..not very cheery, but I won't let it hold me back...my familia lost would want me to continue and to be totally happy.. |

So..once the Man has stated that he has interest in the Woman to be his Wife in Islam; normally the discussion about the "Dowry" takes place, basically it involves a undisclosed amount of money in addition to jewels, cars, homes and/or whatever the Bride to be feels that she should ask for.
IF THE FUTURE HUSBAND agrees then this proceeds and 1/2 of the amount or all of it is to be given upon marriage or during the engagement initial meeting It's not for everybody, but I do understand why it should be exercised in my own opinion at least. QUESTION LADIES: Do you know what you would ask for your Dowry if you had the chance? |

A lil about us
I was born in Portugal to Parents who are Portuguese and Cuban(Father) and Jamaican and Syrian(Mother) , I graduated High School @ 15, took Computer Programming & System Analysis in College and Majored in Computer Sciences in University.
I currently live in Ontario Canada and will be relocating to near or within Miami, Florida..America. I was "born" into a Muslim familia and speak several languages. I am a Mother of three children from my 1st marriage to my late Husband, so clearly this isn't my 1st marriage..but by far it seems to be the most blessed. (((Thank G-d))) My Fiance is of African American and Native Indian heritage. He was born and raised in America. Although we from VERY different ethnicities and languages, we are mutually joined by being in the same Religion(Islam). In Islam we are not allowed to speak to one another one on one until the time has come about to ask for Marriage, so it's been almost 2 months since the 1st time that I spoke to my future Husband (G-d willing) for the first time, I was so nervous that I almost threw up a lil bit..lol We will be meeting in person at least once before the Nikkah(wedding) ...for the 1st time. Also we will be merging our familias into O-N-E as he has one child and I have three. NOT ONLY will I be getting married in Florida.. my children will be relocating with me as well..starting new schools..new country..new friends..and a new familia via marriage.. SO MANY CHANGES!!! |

Henna has been used for hundreds of years by Women of ALL ethnic backgrounds and religions worldwide!
I adore the look but only use it for special occasions as personally it can be a bit too overwhelming for me at times. I am leaning towards using SILVER and BLUE as my colors..similar to the default pic..but in those colors and a different pattern of course |
