I live in Atlanta, but I actually was raised in Miami Gardens. My wedding will actually be in Hollywood, FL. I can definitely help. Do you have a budget? A lot of venues in South Florida can be pretty expensive. It just depends on what you want and how many guest you will have. I will be traveling back and forth a lot down there for the wedding plans.
Spending wise the majority of the budget will be spent within the Reception or as we call it the Walima.
As per Guests; I truly have no idea how many will show...but I do not want too many to show(in our Religion it is open to the Islamic community to attend and support, but within reason as I do not want to be having more people then food if you get what I mean..)lol
I will check out the Hall that you mentioned..I appreciate your help *hugz*
You're leaving Canada to go to Florida? Why would you ever do something like that? Lol, only kidding :) I've been trying to convince my hubby to do just that. I hope you enjoy it there. Anyhoooo... Welcome to our WBC family. You are going to really love it here. I really look forward to hearing about your wedding. I love learning about all the different cultures. Happy planning :)
Ok, well just let me know the exact vendors and I'll be sure to help as much as I can. A lot of wedding venues in South FL will be all inclusive, so you may not need to contact any vendors. Some will only allow you to work with certain vendors, so just be aware of that. Signature Grand is a nice place, but just be aware that they do more than one wedding at a time, so on your wedding day I have heard that it's hard to get the personal service your wedding deserves. Here are some other venues you may want to look into.

Oh, and weddingwire.com is a great site. It also gives reviews of vendors from other brides who have used them.
Yes, Signature Grand host more then one wedding on that same day, but the 2 friends that I had get married there didn't have issues geting help. Then again...it varies from person to person.
Diamantes is definately gorgeous....
Also, the Westin off of Cypress Creek Pkwy in Ft. Laud is gorgeous.....
Once you figure out your budget...it is a whole lot easier to find your venue. Keep in mind that they start from $27 per head to $135 per head depending on venue and location.
Hi welcome to SoFL and congrats on your engagement. I live in the Hollywood area And i am having both my wedding ceremony and reception at the Oak Hammock Hall at the Long Key Nature Center in Davie, FL. Its really cheap and really beautiful, the fee is $1,400 and you can have the entire Hall and grounds for 12 hours. You have to provide everything, the only thing they provide is tables and chairs. They have a large caterers kitchen and they even allow you to bring your own food. Google: Broward County Parks for more info...Good luck and God Bless!
Where in Florida?
I live in SW, Florida - Lee County!
I am moving near Miami or in Miami..either to Hollywood or Miami Gardens area
How are the vendors there for cakes if you don't mind me asking..I am to look via Google as well..actually that is how I found here..lol
If you are interested in a one stop shop there are alot of nice, cheap, affordable banquet halls.
If you are looking for something real nice and affordable check out the SIgnature Grand in Davie or Benuvento in Boynton Beach, fl.
Welcome to WBC and have fun planning!!!
