Design invites d.i.y

I know I have MIA in a really long time, too long. But those families where they destroy the wedding and tear apart the couple, that's what I have!!!

Anyways, I want to design my own invites but the only software I have is the Microsoft Publisher that comes with your computer. So my question is... is there a software that helps you with these types of specific projects? I want to incorporate damask and a monogram in the design.......shoot me some of your ideas, maybe this will be the one thing I can accomplish!!!

Wedding Dress

Well....despite the fact that everyone in the world hated me for doing everything possible backwards in planning our wedding, there was a method to my madness!!

I booked everything, set my colors, & was on a roll...nothing nor no one was going to stop me. The only thing I didn't do yet? Pick out MY dress! (gasp)

Yes, I have been on a severe "die-t" and have lost 13 pounds in the past 4 weeks, now I'm picking up the pace. So by November I was planning on buying a dress off the rack somewhere well, my world crashed down to reality when I went to find the bridesmaid dresses yesterday. They explained to me why that would never work, and as much as I was DREADING it, I HAD to try on wedding dresses-eeew!

I hated everything! I was seriously going to cry by the 11th one, and was convinced that I would never find anything~ well the last one I put on before closing was this one! It has a jewelled bodice and the ruffles mimick ribbons, or feathers. It's my one!!! Couldn't sleep at all last night, I never thought I would find one I would be so happy in....

So good luck to all you ladys, and remember don't get discouraged, you will just know when you have found the one! Sort of like your man!!!!!

Of the many things I am researching and planning, I haven't even begun to look at what hair styles I would like to have. I have seen many posts from you ladys about the "hair"...so I thought about it and decided I love the half up half down look, but want it to be a little more funky and different.

So, I will probably do something with loose curls, like this bun but to the side, and in a pony tail. Don't know about a veil with this look though....what do you think?

Theme/Colors

Winter/outside venue

My # 1 stress in planning this wedding is that we only have 5 more months and I still can't do much planning since I DON'T HAVE COLORS!!!!

My oldest sister is very traditional and picky, though I trust her opionion since I do not want my wedding to appear tacky, but she is driving me crazy about my colors!!!

I started off with baby blue, chocolate brown & pink. My wedding is December 29th-winter, in an outside venue that is designed to replicate Hawaii-Tropical colors everywhere!

Do you catch my dillemma yet? Please help me out here!!! I had to change my colors since everyone is complaining that my colors are not winter enough, and they don't match my tropical themed venue! I will post the pictures of my location so you can get an idea, maybe shoot some opionions my way......PLEASE!

With the new fad of crystals everywhere in weddings....I couldn't resist when my florrist offered these white branches for our centerpieces, but adding various sized crystals hanging down in all different shapes. I jumped out of my chair with excitment since I never believed we could afford all the bling!

Just remember there are ALWAYS different ways to save and replicate the looks you love. For instance we bought the crystals from Michael's and are assembling them onto strings ourselves. The florrist will do the rest, but since we elliminated the most time consuming aspect of the centerpieces, we got a super deal!!!

!Hola!

Introduction of ME!

After spending endless nights and losing numerous afternoons on this website, I have finally added my own profile.

So I thought I would start off with an introduction of myself and my FH. We have been together for 5 yrs. now and been through the very worst of times to the very best of times, Michael is my best friend and my soulmate(sorry for the corny wrds.)

I am a college student (looking 4 a job) and Michael aka "Loui" is a union carpenter. We live in an apartment struggling to save every penny to get a house. Our pride and joy, "Dooney" is a pure bred Maltese whom rules our lives and we enjoy every minute we have together with him!!!

I look forward to this planning roller coaster and appreciate any suggestions, comments, feedback, or even new people! Here's to happy planning ladies, this is the time of our lives!!!!
