We're Pregnant!!!
I am 5 weeks!!!
Well WBC we didn't waist any time. We both wanted children but were shocked to find out that we were pregnant so soon. I feel so blessed! I surprised my hubby by buying a pair of baby Jordans and I wrapped them up and put them in a gift bag. He was so surprised and at a lost for words. We should be having a little bundle of joy mid-January. This is my first child and I am excited about what is to come. Please keep us in your prayers and happy planning!!!

Ask a Question
Are you changing your last name? If so, some food for thought.
If you plan on changing your last name there are somethings you have to do after the wedding. This is my experience....
I had to go to my County's Clerk's office to get a certified copy of my marriage license which cost me $7 a copy. From there I took the copy to the social security office to get my name changed officailly. They gave me a reciept that stated that it will arrive in the mail within 2 weeks. From there I went to the Department of Safety or your local DMV to get the name on my drivers license changed which cost $10. They took my picture for the new license and returned my old license as well. They informed me I would get my new license in the mail in 2 weeks. My husband and I had a joint account prior to the wedding and now I have to go to the bank to change my name. We got a lot of checks for gifts and my bank would not let me deposit the checks with my new name until I came into the branch to change my name in their system. Well this was a pain in the butt because we were married on Saturday, Sunday the bank was closed, Monday was a holiday so they were closed and we left for our honeymoon on Monday. So once I get my new social security card I will be able to change my name at my job and for my insurance. Alot of the places that I had to visit to get my name changed were only open Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm...durning my work hours. So I had to take time during work to take care of these things. I didn't think about all the running around I would have to do after getting married but I wanted to give you all heads up so be prepared to run, run, run. LOL!! |

Well Ladies...I'm married Now!!!
...and it was the best day of my life so far...
I leave for my honeymoon today. My wedding day was beautiful and I couldn't have done it without the help of my family and my friends. My bridesmaids mean so much to me...they helped me calm down when I was having bridezilla moments and they gave their blood, sweat, and tears helping me make this day perfect for me and my husband. Thank you ladies!!! Ladies, be prepared things will go not according to the plan but the main thing is to make sure to enjoy yourself. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed take a moment to breath and regroup. It is YOUR day so remember to make the best of it. God Bless you all!
One more thing...you will be dead tired so try to get alot of sleep in the days prior to the wedding. P.S. - I will post more pics when I get them. |

Tuxedos
Al's Formal Wear
I was online at Al's Formal Wear and I built this tux for my hubby's groomsmen. I like it...so I hope he likes it.
**Update** He didn't like the tux I created...too much pink for him. He told me he has it all taken care of and thanked me for my idea. |

Brides Beware!!!!
SCAMMERS
Brides beware of sheep in wolf's clothing. There are people out there running business with one intent...taking your money and giving you NOTHING in return. Please do your research about the companies we use for catering, florists, etc. This happened to me recently. I was contacted by the Texas Dept. of Safety. They informed me that the company that does my catering was a scam company. I met my caterer at the Houston Bridal Extravaganza and assumed that they were a reputable company. I have been making payments to these people for months and I am at a lost. My wedding is in February and I don't have a caterer. I am staying positive because it could have been my wedding day and have no food. We are taking them to court for restitution. Do not use Tilly's Events & More. I don't want what happened to me to happen to others.
There are websites that you can search the company's name to find out if they are scammers. www.ripoffreport.com www.complaintsboard.com Wedding insurance is very valuable. There are brides here in Houston that booked their weddings at venues that went bankrupt and the company will not give them their money back. If any brides have experience this please let us know what to look out for. |
