Last minute honeymoon???

Hey WBC brides. I came up with this crazy idea and I was wondering if anyone else is doing the same.

My FH and I really want to go some place tropical for our HM but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I was thinking about waiting til about 2 weeks before the wedding and use expedia or travelocity and book a "last minute deal". They are like $1000 for flight and hotel all inclusive.

I am just nervous that I will be too stressed out or maybe we won't find anything right away.

What do you girls think? And what are your HM money savings ideas?

I have also been considering this idea! I'm afraid that we either won't be able to find what we're looking for (aka some where warm!) or that I will be entirely too stressed about not having anything set in stone. I'm in the same boat as you!

You should start doing your research now so you'll know exactly where you'd like to go and what it'll cost you. You may even be able to get a great deal on sites like travelzoo.com or get lucky with travelocity. I've seen some great deals on there for tropical spots that'll cost you under $1000.

Do it!  Life needs a little spontaneity, and you'll be able to find a good deal somewhere... especially in this economy.  :)  We're thinking about doing something like this too, and would *love* to decide the day we leave and just see where we end up.  Whether or not we're that adventurous remains to be seen...  :)

i think thats a great idea!!! there are always deals for warm destinations, you just have to be a bit flexible. i say do it!

It will add a bit of excitement! Sounds good to me. Now lets see if groomzilla is sold on the idea!! I would love to find some deals under or around $1k for all inclusive, for 5 or nights!!

I didn't book our honeymoon last minute, but I did change my plans on our first anniversary trip last minute.

It was a little scary, but I pulled it off.

Maybe have a back up plan and then see if you can get something better, then cancel the back up if you can. Just MAKE SURE the backup is NOT through Priceline/Hotwire and other types of sites like this, because these are almost ALWAYS non-cancellable! Read the fine print, make sure you'll get a refund if you cancel anything. c:
