Ask a Question
mother in-law's reaction
So, Erik and I went to look at some engagement rings last night and I found 2 that I really like. He also talked to his mom this evening at dinner and told her we were looking at rings and he was planning on proposing in a few months. Apparently she acted offended like we had gone behind her back and gotten married without her ocnsent or something, but we just started looking for a ring! Even after he proposes we'll be waiting about 2 years before we get married, so that we'll both be done with our Bachelor's degrees.
So ladies, how did your mother in-laws take the news that their son was getting married? |

I like this band These would be more like our wedding rings, not engagement, but I still LOVE them. I think they'd be awesome in black titanium Love this design Love this design. With a garnet in the center I think this would be stunning. not crazy about the shape of the center stone, but I love the band simple black titanium tension right. Picturing a garnet in place of the diamond. |

Ring
So I mentioned that I got Erik to sit down with me and look at rings. I thought I would put some of them up here. Right now I've just been emailing myself everything that I like and hoarding them in a folder so they don't clog my inbox!

The Proposal
...hasn't happened yet
but I am excited about my wedding anyway. My boyfriend, Erik, and I have been dating for almost 3 years now and I think we've known since about 6 months in that we were going to end up together. I finally got Erik to sit down and look at rings with me a few nights ago, and he's told me multiple times that he already has a plan for proposing at a specific time...I guess that time just hasn't happened yet. I'm guessing it will be around our anniversary, February 28.
I'm definitely looking at something non-traditional for my engagement ring. Probably black titanium as the metal and garnet for the main stone. I'm not sure about the rest yet. I'm starting to plan now because I will be finishing up my B.S. degree for most of our engagement. I am also going to be doing most of the planning alone because my mom and sister both live in Illinois. Can't wait until the proposal actually comes! |
