My dress is too small!
Well...I put up a post about a week or so ago about my dress and the modesty panel. I thought it fit perfect. I was TERRIBLY wrong. When I took it to the lady who is doing my alterations, I found out it's indeed too small. She's going to make a new modesty panel, but when I turned around, I noticed it gathered terribly in the back. It looked terrible. I wanted to just cry! I thought I'd look like a princess, but I'm not sure anymore. She said for me to try on a petticoat underneath and maybe it'd fix the bunching up. It sure did, but I'm still bummed. Not to mention one of the side seams is off because it's too small...the lady was surprised I noticed the bunching up in the back, but how could I not? I felt like a woman with a HUGE HUGE booty. Ugh. Well then, the other lady suggested that I go to the store I initially tried it on at and see if I could trade in my BRAND NEW gown for the store model size 4. I thought about it briefly only to say no way. It's probably dingy and damaged. They said it could come clean, but I said NO WAY! I'm hoping no one will notice how imperfect my dress is :`(

Modesty panel or skin?
Alright everyone! Today, I finally went in and tried on my dress. I must say, I felt like the prettiest princess in the world. I LOVE my dress. It's beautiful...perfect! Except one problem...the modesty panel on the back doesn't cover my entire back! We'd have to make the modesty panel wider. I'm wondering if it's worth the money. Ladies, modesty panel or bare back? Also, has anyone ever had their modesty panel made wider? I'm just worried it'll throw the entire dress off...I can't even explain how happy I am though. Gosh, it's gorgeous. And I also got my tiara, jewelry, veil, and shoes. They are all gorgeous as well. What can I say??? I"m going to be sparkling on my wedding day with all these crystals! :) :) :) :)
Originally, when I had gone in, my measurements were in between a 2 and 4. The owner of the bridal shop contacted a Maggie Sottero consultant who recommended the size 2. Reason was if it was a size 4 the corset closure would not show any of the pretty lacing. Instead, the loops probably would've touched and the rest of it would've been too big. The size 2 fits great minus this lack of modesty panel coverage. I'm halfway ready to freak out, but something tells me, nothing can ruin my dress. And honestly, gosh, I felt great in it. It looked really good! |

Wedding Favor Boxes
These are what my wedding favor boxes are going to look like. The boxes were sold in sets of 50 for 19.99 @ Party America. They came with ribbon and labels, but I hate bows so I nixed those. Instead, I purchased some rhinestones from Craftaroo when they were on sale at .89 a sheet. Then, the flower dimensional stickers were bought at Wal-Mart for $3.00 for 36. However, I can only use 28 of them as the remainder are navy in color not black or silver. To use all of the rhinestones, I am doing ten in the same style. Some will have black flowers...some silver flowers. Then, I will use different rhinestones in different sizes. There are 25 tables with ten seats per table. As long as all 10 at the table are the same, I will be able to save some money.

Well, I am going with a very traditional Mexican food dinner. We will be having tamales, menudo, taco salad, chicken enchilada casserole, green chili, rice, and beans. The food is going to be delicious, and the best part is that my aunts are making it. Who needs a caterer???? I love it!
