Home Sweet Home
Just something that I can call home.
My fiancé and I are both 21 yrs old finishing up college. I graduate this coming May and try to fulfill my dreams of becoming a grade-school teacher. My fiancé still needs a full year after that.
Yesterday my fiancé and I sat down and had a serious talk with my parents. My question to them was if they thought my fiancé and I would be able to survive with a house payment, home insurance, car insurance, light, electricity, etc. with my paycheck alone. They were trying to stay on the positive side and but in the end said, they thought it was going to be very difficult. My fiancé and I just want something to come home to after our wedding. We don't care for a honeymoon; we just want to have a home sweet home. I have been thinking about just renting an apt for a year until my hubby graduates but I don't want to see all that money goes to waste. We'll never see it again! I want to put my money somewhere where I can actually benefit from. An apt down here in South Texas is about $700. A house payment is about $1000. Why not just pay a house, right? As a teacher down here, I won't be making much. I would say about a good 40K plus whatever my FH would bring in from his Part-Time job. Do you think it's possible to make it? Is it feasible? Should we just rent an apt for a year? Please give me your opinions!!! |

Wedding Flowers
Finally!
Ok Ladies,
So...I finally got a florist to put together my flowers! What do you think!? It's not exactly what I wanted, but I think it's absolutely beautiful. These flowers are the centerpieces. You cannot get the full effect on what the centerpeices would look like...but it was gorgeous! Also, I took these pictures from my phone, so they aren't great quality. Opinions? |

Venue!!
This is our Venue; it's called La Placita. It's a beautiful romantic very intimate place. Since we are planning to have something simple and short, I thought this place would be perfect. I love the greenery and spanish feel.

Wedding Dress
WE FOUND IT!!!
My dress is absolutely gorgeous! Oh my gosh, I was in tears once I put it on. It has a spanish feel to it...it's perfect for our venue! I bought it at David's Bridal! I'm so excited!!! The dress has straps but I'm not going to use them. It is absolutely beautiful! It is an A-line organza gown...breath taking! The picture doesn't do the dress justice...
I can't wait!!!!! |

Engagement
Getting to Know Us a Little Better
Bride-to-be: Vanessa
Future Husband: Aaron My fiance and I went to the same high school for our first two years before I transferred to another local high school. I had no idea he existed. Our freshman year in high school he spotted me crying in the hallway in the middle of my group of friends but never approached me. Our sophomore year he saw me again, this time walking down the hall. He said I stood out because of my "big brown eyes." He claims he looked for me for awhile but never found me; I had disappeared. (transferred) 5 1/2 years later we met on Facebook. We had all the same friends yet we didn't know who each other were. After about a good week we hung out; he picked me up from Wal-Mart because I had left my car there to get an oil change. We went to Home Depot! LOL Out of all places thats where we ended up going to kill time. His sense of humor stood out to me! At this point he had no idea I was the girl he had been looking for back in high school. Days later we hung out for a second time. This time he came over to my house before I was supposed to go out with some friends. When we got here we began talking; we spoke for hours and hours. He talked to me about how he got saved and how he gave his life to Jesus. Through testimony, I realized I wanted a change in my life. I was tired of being that girl that would go out and drink with friends, the girl that would date around, the girl that really had an emptiness inside of her. That day i realized there was something different about him. Not only the way he lived his life, but his character. He was a genuine sweet, smart, spiritual guy. That night I ended up staying home and talking to Aaron rather than going out with my friends as I had planned. About a week later, him and I were hanging out and realized we had nothing to do for the night. I had this crazy idea to jump in the car, gas up, and drive an hour and half to the beach. He agreed! So there we were not knowing what we do. When we got there we were just walking & talking trying to learn more about each other. We shared secrets about ourselves that we had never shared with anyone else. After being there for a couple hours, we shared our first kiss. It was perfect! This may sound a little crazy but I knew I was going to fall in love with him. After our first kiss, he then realized I was the girl with the "big brown eyes," I was the girl he had looked for. Shortly after that I knew I loved him. I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. It was perfect and it was a relationship that was Christ centered. It took us almost a month to get to know each other and share our first kiss. We have been together every single day since the day we've met. We were boyfriend and girlfriend for 4 MONTHS before we got engaged. I wouldn't have it any other way. When you know you know, right? Becoming bf/gf was a huge deal to Aaron and I because we knew this was the last bf/gf we were going to ever have. And here we are now...3 months after our engagement and the fire is still burning! We love each other more than we ever have. The love just keeps growing! It's just a beautiful thing God created! And now you know how this relationship got started! THANKS FOR READING!!!!!! |

Wedding Reception
We are Christians!
My fiance and I are true Christians that love Jesus and his Word. We believe that dancing should be for God, so we both decided to not have music or dancing. So, we were trying to come up with some ideas or games to keep our guests entertained! We are planning to enf our wedding rather early; around 11ish...Please, if anyone can suggest some ideas.
We are already playing the bride and groom question game...the one that deals with the bride and grooms shoes! |

Wedding Reception
Change of Mind
I am thinking about changing my wedding to be outdoor...I think these colors are absolutely beautiful! This is probably what I would base my color scheme on. I'm really confused! Tomorrow I have an appointment to visit a beautiful outdoor resort. Over here in deep south Texas, we don't have much of a season change but then the flowers and reception decor can add a lot. There's mostly greenery around that time rather than leaves turning different colors. In November, the weather is beautiful! Any suggestions?
