Any suggestions??!
So I've searched and searched (unfortunately, still searching) for a DJ who is good at what they do and reasonably priced. Being my wedding is on New Year's Eve.. the prices are pretty expensive. I've had one quote me at $700. I've thrown around the idea of just plugging in the IPod and letting it go but not sure how that will turn out. Anyone tried the IPod? Any other suggestions! I need to hurry and book a DJ if I'm going to do it.. only 71 days left!!

Wedding Dress
And then there were two...
I have officially bought two wedding dresses... So here's the deal.
I bought wedding dress #1 (shown below) from a store in Mobile going out of business. I liked the dress and I loved the price. Unfortunately, there was another dress I had already fell in love with but my friends and FMIL talked me out of it. So I bought dress #1. I went about two weeks ago and tried on the dress again for alterations and realized I couldn't wear this dress!!! I tried talking myself into the dress and failed! I ended up talking to my FH about it all and he made me go get the other dress. Now you see why I'm marrying him! So now... I have two! Lesson: Don't let anyone else tell you how to plan your wedding... it's yours and yours alone. Your happiness is most important! BTW.. if anyone is interested in dress #1.. let me know. I need to get rid of it! |

Bridesmaid Dresses..
I forgot to share..
So I completely forgot to tell you all.. we've decided to make our bridesmaid dresses. We're using the dress that I love soooo much from David's Bridal as our inspiration but we're making them floor length too!
I have to order the fabric and get it in before we can start much work on them... I think I've found some similar fabric at Hancock Fabrics. I went to order them this weekend but found out about a better sale they'll be having on special order fabrics on the 12th of October. I will be going back!!! |

When would you send out invitations??!
So I'm having a bit of a dilhemma... I keep debating when I should send out invitations. Since we're getting married on New Year's Eve and I haven't sent out save the dates, should I send invitations a little early? Say mid-October? I want everyone to be able to get off of work and make it but some of my friends keep saying if I send them too early, people will forget!

So much left to do...
Okay girls, I was just checking in with you all. Making sure you're all still here! lol. It's been pretty hectic. Still in the process of buying our house, planning the wedding and keeping up with the Real Estate market! So much left to do!
-Book a DJ -Come up with a signature drink -Buy fabric and start working on Bridesmaid dresses -Get my gown altered (before Oct 25th.. my bridal photo session) -Order Kyle's Tux -Find an officiant -Settle on a cake design -Buy the rest of the silk bridesmaids bouquets -Make my toss bouquet -Make boutonnieres -Get our wedding bands -Attendant gifts -Gifts for the parents -Favors -Get unity candles -Find a guest book for our Polaroid guest book -Rent chairs for the ceremony -Find a garter -Rent tablecloths Feels so overwhelming... |

Long time, no see WBC..
Updates...
So I know it's been a while since I've posted anything... I've been pretty busy with work (Real Estate) and all. We're in the middle of trying to buy the house we currently live in (which happens to be owned by my future in laws). We're also trying to remodel a room in our house for my brother to stay in for a while. It's been pretty hectic...
One good update.. and one bad update. Good: I've booked the photographer!!! YAY! It makes me very excited about 'the day'. I can't wait for it to get here and to see the pictures. I think I feel more excited about the photographer than I am my dress!!! It was a little more than I expected to pay too.. but to me this is very important. I had interviewed other photographers and none of them made me as excited as this one does. Plus, he shot my friend's wedding, so I already know what I'm getting and that he's worth it. Just means I'll have to cut somewhere else.... Bad: Funny I should mention my dress.. So Kyle's grandmother had volunteered to alter my dress for me. Currently she's having some hard times with her husband in and out of the hospital and really doesn't have the time to take on the project. So now I have to find someone I can trust and afford to alter my dress. Nothing worse than scratching something off your list and having to go back and write it back in.... I don't blame her for the fact that she can't do it.. just sucks! Not really an update.. I'm starting to look for DJ's and an officiant. I don't even know where to start.. Anyone point me in the right direction?????? |

I miss my friend..
So one of my very best friends, Samantha, came home for the weekend. She has been in Starkville, Mississippi attending college for about 5 years now. She finally graduated and I thought she'd be heading home. WRONG! She found a job teaching in Tupelo, Mississippi... another hour further away from me. Her coming home to visit made me miss her even more! I think it really makes a difference now that I'm trying to plan this wedding because I always imagined she would be here helping me pick things out and we'd be shopping for everything together. Unfortunately, she won't be close enough to experience it all with me! I just needed to vent and tell the world... I MISS MY FRIEND!!!

Anyone doing Pin-Up/Boudoir pictures?
Pictures for the future HUBBY!
Since I started planning, I thought I knew from the get-go what I wanted to give Kyle on our wedding day, but now I'm having doubts. I don't know if I really want to now... I think because I'm so self-consious around others and I don't know how I'll feel in front of the photographer.
I think if I do have the pictures done that I'll lean more towards doing pin-up pictures as opposed to boudoir pictures.. Anyone else having this problem or had this problem and overcame it?? |

SHOES! BROACH!

I was very concerned about what kind of shoes I was going to be able to find that were comfortable enough for me to wear all night. Don't get me wrong, I love a good heel, but there's no way I'd be able stay up on my feet for 8 hours... especially since I plan on dancing! I looked everywhere until I found these flats. They match my dress, are comfortable, and were only $20. I can't wait to wear them!
I also have been searching the internet, antique shops, and everywhere else I could think of for a replacement broach/brooch for my dress. (Seriously, you search yahoo for broach and it asks, "Did you mean 'Brooch'?" Then you ask anyone in person and they ask, "Don't you mean broach?") I had an idea of what I was looking for.. something vintage-looking and I loved the look of what they call the aurora borealis gems. I found the perfect thing... Antique shop, $15. |
