I just love our invites, the vendor did a fantastic job and really listened to what we wanted!

International Guests!
Yesterday I turned 25 and had my last birthday as an unmarried lady! The day was pretty rainy and so me and my fiancee went to the cinema and watched 'Sex and The City 2'. Today though I woke up to some awesome news!
My friends Jeremy and Heather who I stayed with when I went to Califronia are saving up their holiday time to hopefully come out to our wedding! |

Wedding Decoration
A Twist on Table Lighting
I saw this the other day on The Knot website and thought it was awesome! Again, it's just one of many ideas, but it certainly looks lovely... we'd have to have a brainstorm about how to collect the cans though!

Wedding Invitation
Save The Dates - Let's call them 'unofficial'
Here is the not-yet-officially-confirmed 'Save the Date' card we are coming up with ourselves. I quite like the black and white, and it doesn't give away the colour scheme for the wedding, which we're trying to make a bit of a surprise until the big day. Others have said they would prefer us to put a splash of colour on it... hmm, that's why they are 'unofficial'! Will keep you posted on our developments.

Wedding Music And Songs
First Dance
What do you think about Josh Pyke's song 'The Summer as our first dance song? It was kind of a special song for the 08-09 summer. The lyrics are below:
"If I could bottle up the sea breeze I would take it over to your house And pour it loose through your garden, So the hinges on your windows would rust and colour Like the boats pulled up on the sand for the summer. And your sweet clean clothes would go stiff on the line And thered be sand in your pockets and nothing on your mind But every year it gets a little bit harder To get back to the feeling of when we were fifteen And we could jump in the river upstream And let the current carry us to the beginning where The river met the sea again And all our days were a sun-drenched haze While the salt spray crusted on the window panes We should be living like we lived that summer I wanna live like we live in the summer And Ill remember that summer as the right one The storms made the pavement steam like a kettle And our first goodbye always seemed like hours In the car park in between my house and yours And if the summer holds a song we might sing forever Then the winter holds a bite wed never felt before But time is like the ocean You can only hold a little in your hands So swim before were broken Before our bones become Black coral on the sand We should be living like we lived that summer I wanna live like we live in the summer" |

Bridal Show
In a fairytale castle!
My FH and I went to a wedding show today and it was in a castle! (see picture attached). Got heaps of information about cateres, venue hire, wedding cakes, favours, flowers and everything else I could have thought of. All of this will come in very handy when planning our second 'wedding' in the UK, which will be more a blessing ceremony after the initial ceremony in Australia. I'm wondering whether to attend another show later on in the year and so pose this question: How many wedding shows have other brides attended?

Wedding Car
One of our options
My dad reminded me this morning that my uncle has a purple Holden Commodore! Have to run it by my fiancee, but I'm thinking this could be one snazzy lead car! I'm not so fussed about a limo or other more 'traditional' options, but as this is shaping up to be one fun, home-coming kind of wedding, I am really drawn to this idea.

Wedding Favors
Still dreaming...
I know I've mentioned these before, and I am still dreaming of them. So cute! Maybe a cheaper option would be to go for another type of champagne or sparkling wine.

Ask a Question
Wedding dress, weight loss and fittings - what are your experiences?
Hi guys, just thought I'd put up a question about the all important pre-wedding weight loss. I would idealy like to lose at least 5 kilograms (11 pounds) in the next 14 months. However, I'm also mindful about the fact that I will be trying on dresses in June/July and I may lose more weight after I buy my dress. How soon up to the wedding should you still be losing weight, given that dresses need to be altered in time for the big day?
PS The dress is one I've had my eye on :) |

Wedding Reception
On the look out for a Marquee
My parents and I have been on the look out for a suitable marquee for a couple of weeks now. It looks like we have narrowed it down, including the people who did the marquee shown. Interestingly, I like how they have the square table in the middle of the marquee, instead of just all round tables. Mum suggested that could be the 'parents' table. I've made a word document FULL of pictures of marquee decorations, there is so much you could do! Given that our colour scheme is purple and green I've looked at some cool things that people have done with limes and apples, which could work out to be a less expensive option than lots of flowers.

Engagement
My sister got engaged!!
Oh my goodness, who would've thought, I'm engaged at the same time as my sister! Her and her boyfriend (now fiancee!) went for a picnic at King's Park (see the view in the pic attached) and he proposed there. So now we have to figure out the logistics of two weddings when I'm in a different country. So now we will both be bridesmaids and brides! Wow, what a weekend.
