Gorgeous!
I love love love this Ivory Wild Rose with Ivory Feathers and Ostrich Streamers fascinator! I found it on etsy (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19796137). I'm so gonna buy it when I get some funds coming in (the next month). And I think I may get this aisle runner from ebay seller seasonal-decorator.

Jewelry
Accessories! Gotta love'em
Ok, so now I'm on the hunt for some accessories to go with my ivory, blush, gold colors, and to match my already purchased earrings and shoes. I lurve this Carlo Fellini 'Sofia' Beaded Clutch at Nordstroms, and this Nadri Woven Pavé Wide Cuff Bracelet also at Nordstroms. Any other ideas? I think the purse is fine, but a fancier bracelet wouldn't hurt!

Been a long time
I know it's been a long time, but I've been in quite a funk. I lost my job over a month ago, so I haven't wanted to do anything with wedding planning with no income coming. I'm slowly but surely getting back into the groove, so hopefully you guys will see me post more in the near future. Smooches!

Centerpieces - what to do!
Ok ladies, I bought the smallest candle holder over there to the left for my lowest centerpiece. The tall centerpieces are the ostrich feathers you see in pic 2. I'm thinking about putting crystals in the glass of the low candle holder, but what else should I have to decorate the low centerpiece tables??? I bought them mindlessly because they only cost me $20 for 9! And now I need your help lol. Suggestions? Thanks ladies.

Shoes
Wedding Day Shoes!
I found my wedding day shoes. Yesterday I opened up an old email from Nordstroms where they wee advertising vintage shoes and accessories. How perfect, right? As soon as I clicked the page, there they were. Bingo! Jackpot! I win lol. Now I just have to worry about whether or not they will make me too much taller than J! Have you picked out your wedding shoes yet?

Wedding Invitation
Paper for invitation
Can anyone tell me which website has the cheapest price for invitations? I'm already buying the pocketfolds and mats from Cards and Pockets but wasn't sure they had the best prices for the actual invitation paper. Thanks!

See my progress???
Today as I made the decision to take a mental health day from work, I planned, planned, planned! and I am proud of me :~) I got some things done that I didn't think I would until next year! So here goes
Song for me to march in on: Seeing for the Very First Time by BeBe Winans First Dance Song: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This by Will Downing and Rachelle Farrell Finally picked out the flowergirl dress, something my cousin/matron of honor has been harassing me about. Now here's my question - my colors are cashmere, ivory, blush pink, and gold. Since the flower girl dresses are ivory, should the sash be gold, blush pink, or ivory? The ladies are wearing cashmere (you can find it on the jim hjelm website under satin. It's not working for me right now!), and they will carry blush and white bouquets. My maid of honor and matron of honor will carry blush bouquets only and my bouquet will be all white. The flower girls will toss blush pink rose petals. Just wanted to give you an idea of the color scheme. The gold will be in the accents, like te fabric wrapped around my bouquet. Let's see, besides that, I found the place where my girls and I will get ready. The akwaaba B&B here in DC. At first I thought I wanted to spend the night with my girls, but then I realized I'd much rather spend it with my mom for a bonding moment. So, she and I will spend the night there and the girls will head over in the morning. Jonathan and I may spend our wedding night there, we'll see. I love it though! That's progress right? I feel good about it. Now, I'm going to finish up these monograms and be done with all the planning I'mma do for the week! P.S. I totally forgot to add that we nailed down the wedding program. Here is how it will go: prelude invocation lighting of candles seating of families attendants' processional bride's processional dance presentation exchange of vows blessing and exchange of rings lighting of unity candle the Lord's prayer on flute during the lighting of the unity candle pronouncement communion / prayer recessional |

Wedding Photography
I've fallen inlove all over again
Thank you guys for the warm welcome! Wow. I feel apart of the community already! You know, I think I am really married to the idea of doing my own monogram, but I'm thankful you guys made the suggestions that you did just incase I get nervous and decide to have someone else do it ;-)
Well, yesterday J and I went to take our engagement photos! I was so excited and nervous. As a makeup artist I was under pressure to get my makeup perfect, and if you know me, that's usually when I drop the ball. The prefectionist side of me puts way too much pressure on myself and everything tends to fall apart. However, after I was done I thought it came out beautifully, but I guess the proof will be in the pictures. J? looked handsome as always, so all he had to do was stand there lol. Our photographer was extremely down to Earth, and besides the fact that he's a Cowboys fan (poor guy), he's awesome! The best part was the location in which we took pictures. He met us down at the Jefferson Memorial, and that is where I fell inlove with this great city of mine all over again. It's simply breathtaking! I asked J why we don't go down to the monuments more often! The weather was gorgeous (I love falls beautiful colors and crisp air)! Overall, we had a great time. I cannot wait to show you all the pictures! |

Monogram
That's haute!
Hello ladies! Sooo, I've been eyeing this site for a while, trying to break the monotony that is theknot, and finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. Just to give you a heads up about me...I am all over the place with this wedding planning business. My colors went from fuschia, magenta, black, and white, to blush pink, champagne, gold, and ivory. The theme was old hollywood glamour, and is now vintage glamour. Just about anything you can change your mind about, I did! Anyway, I look forward to sharing my journey with you all. The latest thing I'm working on is the perfect monogram. How did you decide on your monogram? Did you create it yourself or have someone do it for you?
