A One Day Honeymoon

The best budget friendly honeymoon idea ever! We are going on a day trip to one of our favorite areas in the state, Door County. The plan is to drive up there the morning after our wedding and drive back that night. We absolutely love Door County and there is so much we haven't done during our trips to the Peninsula.

So far we are planning on going to a few wineries, including the one we went to the day Rob proposed. :) There is also a vodka distillery and a brewery that we have never been to. Weather permitting, we want to go on a boat tour and check out the historic lighthouses.

I am hoping we can picnic on one of the beaches too. If not, there is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from!

Is anyone else taking a short honeymoon?

My fiance and I are on a really tight budget especially with buying our first home so we're still looking for a reasonable honeymoon. I'd prefer to go away somewhere out of North America since him and I have never been away together but everything is so darn expensive - unless you want to go to Cuba, which we don't. So we as well might end up on a short honeymoon just to be able to afford it.

The more I thought about the idea of a very short honeymoon, the more I liked it. We would have like to go out of the country too, but you are right, everything is soo expensive. We plan on saving up so we can actually go on a fun vacation later. Best of luck! :)
