Vajazzling...shhhhh!
beauty for the unmentionable area
This sounds like a fun surprise for your wedding night or honeymoon. Or even just to spice up things after the big day. I'm thinking of giving it a try. It sounds easy enough to even do a self application. Thoughts? Is it too obvious that I love Bling?

These are so nice! They are called the disco ball shoe! If you are a bride that is use to stilletos and want that extra bling! They are a must! For those of you who'd rather look fierce but can spare the pain. I bet these would be great for an engagement party or rehearsal dinner! Retailed at about $2800 I found the knock offs for around $150!

Wedding-less Bride!
The wedding is over.
Well ladies and gents. The wedding has been over for some time now and I still find myself visiting wedding sites. I really was stressed out when planning my own wedding. But now several of my close friends and co-workers have had weddings or have recently gotten engaged. I find myself really excited and I love giving ideas and helping them plan! I have even considered trying to find a job in the industry.
I am always looking at things that I could have done better for my day or things that my friends should do for their wedding. Have I become obsessed? Will this ever do away? Former brides....please tell me I don't have seperation anxiety! How does one just go to a wedding a enjoy after you have had your own? |

Trash the Dress
trash the dress!
OMG! I am so excited about my trash the dress photos. For those of you that are a little apprehensive about it! You have to try it out and you don't really have to TRASH your dress completely if you don't want to get too dirty. Just find a cool location, brings some props, and find a cool photographer with a great eye! We took our pictures this weekend in the Orlando area and our photographer was AMAZING! This is a must for all of you brides and former brides. WE had a blast and our photographer HEATHER RICE was awesome!

Wedding Cake
Butterflies and Roses
My cake was so pretty yet plain. It was a simple white 4 tier cake. With different flavors on each layer. The bottom tier was almond cake with creme' brulee frosting, then chocolate cake with strawberries, and the 3rd tier was carrot cake (my mom's fave). Of course we saved our top tier for our 1st year anniversary. Is anyone else saving their top tier? Also do you plan on doing different flavors? My guest seemed to like the idea. But of course you have those few that complain about not getting a certain flavor.
P.S. I found these butterflies at a fabric store. They matched my butterfly theme and color scheme perfectly. They were only $2 for a pack of 24. We made napkin rings and added details with them. They had wires attached which made them really easy to work with. Let me know if you like and I will check and see if the store still has them. |

Hair and Makeup
Hair and Make up for the African American Bride
There were several make-up artist and boutiques in the Bay area. However, very few catered or displayed examples for the African American Bride.
This was a very grueling task for me because I wanted a different look that would last. I found a wonderful artisit in the area and recommend air brushing. The make-up lasted all day and will not smear nor wear off. The artist also did my hair on location. She is very reasonable and her prices included hair, make-up and trial session. Make sure that who ever you book, includes this for free. I would recommend an updo for the ceremony with hair accessories. It creates a very classy and elegant look. Amazingly, I found the same hair accessories at a Chinese (dollar store) for one dollar a pieces. When ordering them or purchasing from a bridal boutique, these can range from $10-$75. If you would like, I can post some pics of the ones that they have. Personally, I chose to stay away from extentions the day of the ceremony due to percperation, wind, or other elements. My make-up artist was so reasonable that her price for all of my services, was well under one of my normal salon services at my regular salon and I didn't have to sit in the salon the entire day. Sisters...you know what I'm talking about (I'm sure). Check out her link: http://www.beautybroughtout.com/2007/index.php Tips: 1. Get the lash extentions 2. don't get a facial one week before the wedding 3. get your eyebrows arched one week before the wedding (therefore, you have time for grow outs "mistakes" and will only need a touch up 4. Whiten your teeth 7 to 14 day before the wedding! The crest strips worked great for me. |

Ask a Question
Are you in need of a dress?
In an effort to find the perfect dress, I purchased two dresses for my reception. I did not wear the one pictured and would love for someone to use it. It is a very pretty dress and I am selling it at a very resonable price. As a matter of fact, if you give me a REAL sob story and make me an offer.....It could be yours for next to nothing. I just would hate for it to go to waste just because I chose another dress.
I am a size 10 but asked for it to be made in a size 14 for alterations purposes. It really fit like a size 12 before I lost weight. Of course I would charge to have it shipped as well. It has never been worn and would make a great reception dress or outdoor wedding dress. Check it out! |
