i'm married! yay! there is so much to say...
About the wedding:
I know its long, but you can just go view the pics only if u want :)
(Rehersal Dinner)
I'll start at the rehearsal dinner. I ended up finishing buying my bridesmaids gifts the day before. I gave them matching bags filled with: the movie "27 dresses", the earrings I got for them to wear during the ceremony, body spray and lotion from Victoria's Secret and cards that matched their bags and expressed how I felt about them individually and how thankful I am that they were going to be a part of my wedding, and also how thankful I am to have been friends with each of them for so long. The dinner went great the food was amazing (I think I picked out a perfect menu if I do say so myself, lol). It was a little crowded and my hubby was freaking out, he seemed nervous and stressed out, he says it was because he thought everyone was misbehaving (bridal party, I guess...). It really nice i love to be around so many people I love at one time.
(Ceremony)
That night I was SUPER nervous and had trouble sleeping. especially because...well, lets just say I wanted to strangle one of my bridesmaids. I think I got like 5 or 6 hours of sleep though. The morning of my wedding I was still really nervous, and anxious and excited, and happy! my nervousness came to ahead when i got into the coach. The coach driver tried to tell me jokes to help but they were bad jokes and only made it worse. lol. The ceremony was BEAUTIFUL, prettier then I had imagined to would look. Stepping out of the coach, I felt like such a princess. It was so nice to see my whole family (most of them) and his all dressed up and coming together to celebrate me and my honey. It was hard to keep it together when I saw him at the altar waiting for me, he looked so good, I just wanted to run to him and say "oh my gosh honey we are getting married!" I am really surprised I was able to hold in my tears, i'm usually a pretty emotionally expressive woman. Every thing the pastor said really touched me. He did the hand reading which I really liked. Wes said he could feel me shaking during our vows. all I rememer was being so happy to hear him say "I do!" (yay!, he said I do!, I feel so lucky)
(Reception)
The reception was really fun and sentimental, the DJ was a little disappointing, but everything else was fabulous. Mickey and Minnie were a hit. They made for some great shots. The food was AMAZING! best wedding food EVER. I guess the grand Californian is known for their great food. My bridesmaids looked super hot, their earrings looked great with the dresses, and matched their shoes perfectly. The groomsmen tuxes looked awesome with the bridesmaid dresses. ummm... lets see what else?....The program fans were a hit, looking out during the ceremony you could see those fans going a mile a minute (it was hot!) my brother and sister did their job well, they were happy to be part of the wedding you could tell, and that ment alot to me. No one realized what the rose petal cones were for (dang...), but the rose petals down the aisle completed the whole look of the ceremony for me, Im glad I added it. my hubby did notice my surprise at the garter toss, he was like "Green Bay!' and showed his dad who is also a fan. The Disneyland hotel gave us a complimentary room for after the wedding they gave us tuxedo strawberries and champagne and I think they were going to decorate our bed with rose petals because I was waiting for Wes in the room wearing my veil and lingerie when the maid came in without knocking! I think she thought we were still at the reception, she and I were both really embarrassed, and she apologized and left. A little later she knocked on the door to give me the strawberries and champagne. Their little touches definitely made it more romantic and perfect. (After the embarrassment of course, ha-ha)
(Honeymoon)
We left for our honeymoon that night, we were sooo tired. We went on a cruise to the Bahamas as you know. We went to Disneyworld for a couple of hours before we boarded the ship. it was interesting, im glad we had the chance to fit it in. its SUPER humid in Florida, but other than the humidity the weather was perfect, it rained a couple of times but always at times when we were doing something indoors on the ship. I had the best time, it reminded me of when we were first dating, that feeling of having a huge crush on someone. Everything was so beautiful; we did a lot of kissing when we weren't in our room. we ate like pigs because they constantly had loads of food and ice cream, we sun bathed (he got burned) we saw some shows, some comedy acts, we went dancing, took pictures, shopped, we went to a couple of local museums, he rented a moped, which freaked me out, so we didn't ride that for long. lol. He got sick the first night I think, so I went and got him some ibuprofen and sun burn gel to rub on him while his fever went down. He was better in the morning thanks to nurse wifey (haha) the vendors on both islands were a little pushy and the further we got from tourist spots the sketchier I felt. But overall it was awesome, I got to use all the bathing suits I bought, and really had a nice time.
(my feelings on marriage...and my husband)
Overall I am just so happy to be married to the best friend I've have ever had. I really think we balance each other out. It feels so wonderful having someone who REALLY understands me and loves me. In 6 years we have never been mad at each other for longer than a day. The first couple of years were definitely tumultious but we have made it through with the understanding that relationships are about growing together. People grow and change, I am not who I was 10 years ago and 10 years from now I will not be the same woman I am today. The same goes for him. Understanding and accepting that is big. Growing together and maintaining our relationship for the rest of our lives will probably be the most dificult thing we ever do, but we know that its not always going to be lovey dovey, and easy. It gets hard, but the relationships that last are the ones who stand by eachother in good times and in bad. (for better or for worse). He is....absolutely... the love of my life. and now he's my partner in life for life. I feel so lucky.
on another note.... I want to say I have totally enjoyed this WHOLE wedding process. Planning the wedding of your dreams is the most fun and exciting thing! All the obsessing and nervousness is nothing compared to the feeling you have when you are at the altar with your best friends and the love of your life, while your whole family watches. Good luck to all you guys with your planning, and best wishes on your marriages. Vix
