PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
We booked three vendors in one weekend!
This past weekend we were able to book three vendors!

-Our decorator: Decorations for Celebrations
-Our wine maker: Simply Great Wines
-My dress: Bridal Wreath

I have mixed emotions about the dress though. I love the dress, but I really didn't get to try on any of the ones that I have been looking at online for the past six months. Bridal Wreath only had a few dresses to choose from, and I kind of feel like I just got caught up in the moment and just purchased the best one that they had, not necessarily the best dress. I am excited, but at the same time, I am a little disappointed. It was my first time dress shopping, and I brought my mom, my sister (MOH) and my grandmother. We all had a really great time, but I just think that I may have jumped too quickly.

Before the appointment, I had decided that I wanted to buy a Maggie Sottero dress because there were about seven of her dresses that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, Bridal Wreath did not have any of them. I ended up buying a Sincerity Bridal dress. It was only $860 including taxes, but I was willing to pay much more.

So now, here I am second guessing my decision. I have only put $50 down on the dress, so I am wondering if I should go out and try on more dresses, and if so, who do I bring?

good for you for getting your list knocked down!!  yay!!  as for the dress, if the $860 gown was not what your heart really feels content about, then i wouldnt settle, especially if it is financially feasible for you to spend a little more for what you really want.  if/when you decide to go try on dresses, i would bring 2-3 well trusted friends or family members.  It would be nice if that included someone from your wedding party, maybe your mom, a sister....  i say 2-3 because it helps to have that 2nd opinion right there, without having to email pics around, or make a 2nd trip to the store for others to see.  who ever you know will give you true & supportive feedback is encouraged.  and, dont forget the camera!!

Good work.  About the dress....you don't sound convinced....I think Sonya is right put on great undergarments and grab some fantastic shoes and couple of close friends and go looking for a dress.  Lots of places will not allow cameras...but you will feel right when its the one.

You will know when you find "the dress" because you will get the butterflies.  I didn't believe it myself, until it happened to me.  It's your day and one of the most important things is the dress, so if you're only out $50 and can afford it, I say GO FOR IT! Get the dress that will make YOU feel beautiful and special on YOUR day!!!

I am from the barrie area as Well. The bridal wreath was the second place I went looking for a dress. I could not decide between a dress there and a meggie sottero (victoriana) which was just down the street and around the corner (downtown) called Helen's Bridal. I ended up going with maggie sottero, victoriana from helens. Helens will order in a sample dress of a maggie if they do not have it, you do not have to pay anything for them to order the sample. They are also very friendly girls there as well. I suggest if you are not happy with your gown still to call over to helens and tell them what you are looking for. also their prices are not final, if you have found a dress cheaper somewhere else they will try and match it for you!
