Does anyone know of a site that lets you design your own save-the-dates for a reasonable price? I know what I want, but can't seem to find the designs/colors that I'm looking for in the right size (business card) and price range. I think I have looked at every single site that pops up when you do a google save the date search!

My fiance and I are both graduating from college next weekend and we have been engaged for a month now. My mom was planning on throwing us a graduation party anyway, but now that we are engaged she wants to make it a combo party. The grad. open house was going to be really informal (swimming, bonfire, etc.), but if it's going to be an engagement party too I want it to be a little less informal and I'm not sure how to go about that. None of our college friends are at the same point in their lives right now, so while I know they're happy for us, I don't think any of them would be interested in attending an engagement party...especially since there will be no alcohol(neither of our parents drink). Also, I don't want anyone to feel like they need to bring gifts or anything. Should we just not do the engagement party? I really never planned on having one anyway, but my mom really wants to. Has anyone done anything like this before or do you have any ideas?

We finally decided on a place to have our reception which is a huge relief. I live in a small town and I'm having a 400+ wedding, so there are a limited amount of venues that can accommodate that many people. I am really happy with the one we chose. It's called the Palomino and it is surrounded by horse farms and woods. My tables will be similar to the pictures except instead of the Christmas decorations, we will have something with tiffany blue. The FH isn't too happy with it just because they don't have what he wants on the catering menu (baby back ribs...seriously?) but they have lots of options that I'm happy with, so he'll have to get over that : )

I had no plans of even looking at dresses yet, but my mom really wanted to, so we decided to go just look at one place today. I went to David's Bridal and it was TERRIBLE. I had an appointment, but wasn't helped AT ALL. One of the dresses I tried on smelled terrible and had blood stains on it. The slip they gave me was a size 2 (I'm an 8) and they told me they didn't have anything bigger, but I HAD to wear it while trying dresses on. Needless to say, this was my first experience looking at dresses and after that I had no desire to ever do it again. We decided to just get some lunch and go home. Next to the place we ate at was a Demetrios store, so my mom persuaded me to go in and take a look. It was SOOOOO much better, and I found 2 dresses that I am absolutely in LOVE with! I don't know how I will ever be able to choose between the two. I would have either of them in white (ivory is shown) and the one with the high neckline would cover my stomach area instead of being just lace. Anyone have opinions?

I'm pretty sure I found the dress I want my flower girl to wear! I finally decided on black, white, and tiffany blue for the colors, so this dress is perfect! My little cousin will be the FG, she'll be almost 4 at the time of the wedding. I'm so excited!

I didn't realize that you could share proposal stories, but after reading others (I'm such a sap : ) I decided I would post mine...

We're both in our last semester of college, and I have had the most stressful semester yet. Well, a few weekends ago, Matt told me not to schedule anything that Monday after classes because he had booked a mani/pedi/massage for me. I thought it was really sweet of him, but didn't suspect anything because he does nice things like that for me all the time. Well, when I got home, he was at my place grilling steak, but again, this is not unusual because he is a cook at a steakhouse. So, we sat down to dinner and started eating and talking as usual. He asked, "You don't think I'm going to propose tonight do you?" I said no and laughed at him...I knew he was going to propose, but really didn't think it would be before summer time. So, he gets down on one knee and asks me if I think he has a ring in his pocket...I said no because he always jokes about having a ring and never does, so I still didn't really suspect it. Then he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked I couldn't really say anything, just started jumping up and down and hugging him. I can't wait to be Mrs. Emery : )

I don't like cake...and my FH doesn't really care for it either, so we would rather not get one when we won't eat it. We were thinking that we might see if we could get stackable cheesecakes or something like that, but my mom had the idea to do a faux cake and then a dessert buffet with several different options. I think wedding cakes are beautiful, so that would be a good solution, but is it too weird? Is anyone doing this or have you seen it done before?

Ok, just so everyone knows, I am not trying to use this to make money, I just want to be able to help everyone out because I know how important this day is to you!

With that said, I am a certified personal trainer and while I can't let this overtake my life, I'd be happy to give advice or e-mail back and forth every few days with anyone who is trying to get down to a healthier size before their wedding. I will have (in 3 weeks!) a degree in Exercise Science, so I have a little bit more knowledge than a lot of the crazies who have websites or products to "lose weight and look your best in 2 weeks!" I'm going to kind of just rant and rave here for a bit, but this is something I'm really struggling with and I'm not sure what to do...

About 2 months ago, my best friend of 13 years and I had a huge argument and are no longer on speaking terms and never will be again :(

There will be 5 groomsmen and I want an equal number of bridesmaids, so I am really having a hard time filling the positions. My cousin who is 15 will be one of them and my fiance's brother's wife will be another, but those are my only for sures. Here's who I'm thinking though:

Friend A-families have been friends since before we were both born, but we have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in common...my mom thinks that I should have her in the wedding.

Friend B-we were great friends growing up, but have really lost touch since we have been in college. We have been chatting about once a month the past few months, but I don't want her to think that I'm just having her because I have no one else.

Friend C-good friend the first couple years of college, but we only see each other every couple of months now and don't have much in common any more.


I am not really close with anyone, so I'm not sure who I should have as my MOH...I had always just planned on it being my best friend who is no longer :(

I don't want who ever I pick to feel like I picked them just because I had no one else. Any advice?

I know I want my bridesmaids to wear black dresses, but I have no clue what my other color(s) should be. Anyone have any ideas of what looks good with black? I was kind of thinking a teal color, but you can't really get teal flowers. I really don't want pink either and I like red, but it's a summer wedding and I feel like that's too wintery...HELP! : )
