US BRIDES HELP! Going Over the Border...
Hey all,
I am going to the States next Sunday to go to Davids Bridal in New York( close to the border, like Tonawanda or Buffalo). But I was hoping for some other places we could go to bridesmaid dresses while we are over there.... all I can think of is J Crew. Does anyone have any thoughts besides Davids Bridal?? (Iknow we suck for going on Sunday when most bridal stores are closed) Thoughts?? |

Weight loss going well:)
As I had mentioned before I had signed up for a gym and have been doing weight watchers. I am happy to report that I have lost 24 pounds :)
I am going to try and step it up a bit and do more classes at the gym. I started loosing weight March 8th and it is now May 14th, so I have lost 24 pounds in about 2 months. So i figure by July 15th I should be down another 25 pounds, that is a high goal since I know that the first 10 pounds comes off pretty easily. On more of a wedding note, We bought Chris's wedding band at 80% off. yay!! |

Ask a Question
Our venvue is being bought by a big company.. what now??!?!?!?
Our venue called and said we had to come in to sign papers and we were like ok and drove the two hours it takes to get there. When we arrived he told us that they had been bought by a multi million dollar hotel company. They said everything will stay the same price wise but we now have to re-sign with the new company*whos name is all numbers??) or get back our deposit money and go somewhere else. We have enough time to get a new place I think but I just dont know! I feel like this new company can jsut change things all they want and we will never know! What about if close to the wedding they decide to change it into a hotel... what do I do then??
So Im thinking about getting our deposit back(I only have till Friday to make a decision) and booking somewhere else but that means spending more money possibly on a new venue and going out and looking again! But that means this gives me the chance to go for a different "themed" wedding. I could have like a barn wedding or something else...... Thoughts??? |

Photography - -Talk me off the edge!
I think I have found our photographers.... but Im so nervous that Im going to pick the wrong one.. I love their photos and their prices is a bit more than I wanted to spend but I really love their pictures and they seems really awsome at our meeting. But photography is a one time thing.. you cant go back and re-take pictures at your wedding...... I have just heard so many horror storys about peoples photographers. I feel like I have done enough research/ searching for reviews about them...
How did you ladies finally decide on a photographer? Did you just go with your gut feeling? |

Why do photographers want my first born child?????
Why is it so hard to find a photographer?!?!?!?
I have been looking non-stop for a reasonable priced photographer that I wont have to give my first born, and that is GOOD. I found one that I really liked and then after an interview and reading reviews about him I decided that after all these horrible reviews that I should probably stay away.. I mean I will only get these photo opportunities once. Now after I have emailed every photographer in and outside the city practically, it seems like I will have to either a)settle with an OK photographer who will not rob me blind b)use money from another part of my budget to add to the photography budget and lower the time that the amazing photographers will stay. c)nix something completely from the budget and use it all in photography and have them stay for a longer period of time and have an awsome photographer...... currently I am thinking of option b.... i mean do I really need pictures of drunken people on the dance floor at midnight? I dont think I do? These are the few I am considering that range in price and package and what they offer incase anyone is interested and looking: Rivera Multimedia(suggested by AMC I believe) - - Photography Package: $1,200 Coverage: Brides Home, Ceremony, Park, Reception (no-time limit) 1 DVD with all high resolution digital images (1000+) 1 File with edited photos (affects, black & white, airbrush) 1 Engagement Session 1 location-roughly 1 hour 1 CD with all photos taken at session 1-12x16 Print 1 border for signatures http://www.riveramultimedia.com/ -unsure if they use RAW Slate Photography I believe it was 1800 for all day long and RAW dvd high res images. -seemed good when I met with them at the wedding show -2 photographers, they dont hire outside contractors(which is good!) http://www.slatephotography.ca/ (their website itsnt very good but their portfolio at the show looked good) CiprianoPalmer photography (husband and wife team, husband used to shoot for tv shows.. super cool!) Package 1 - $2,249.00 Two photographers for 6 hours online web gallery high res on dvd 200 4x6 proofs in black alblum personalized leather bound coffee book -RAW images therefore more clarity in the photographs -also they seem incredibly kind and fun Forde studios(recommend by a bride that wants to stay unnamed from WBC) 1300 for 4 hours of photography on wedding day with all images on dvd, and engagement session. Now how to pick!!! Anyone have any advice/know of any other photographers? Or any websites where you can find reviews of photographers in Toronto area?? |

My new e-ring with wedding band(previous e-ring).....
the re-proposal.. love, past, present and future
So we were wedding band shopping and there were a few that I liked that fit with my e-ring and then for fun i tried on this beauutttiful engagement ring. Well as it turns out my old engagement ring(which is a three stone) looks wonderful as a wedding band to this other engagement ring. So... he bought me this new engagement ring! I love love it, and we even christened it with a re-proposal with the new engagement ring. It was so wonderful. (The old engagment ring, the now wedding band is going to go back to the store to get re-dipped and plated and then hidden!)
(***Pardon the bad pictures, they dont do any justice!***) I loved the 3 stone ring meaning for past, present and future and on the side of the 3-stone ring(still with me? lol) were 3 hearts and on the new e-ring(one stone) there is one heart. So I really wanted to have a way to add a spin to the past, present and future meaning and this is what Chris had to say: "Why dont we have the new engagement ring's heart mean love?"- Chris "Huh?" - Tanya "Well think of it like this: I loved you then, I love you now and I'll love you always" ... He always says the right and wonderful things. Oh how I cant wait to marry him. Are there ever moments when you think, wow, Im pretty darn lucky to have this man forever? |
