So what all went wrong (if anything) on your wedding day?
You follow the guides. You keep track of every detail. You confirm everything... Still it seems the wedding day has a snafu or two... and some are full on car crashes. I'm sure there are a few that go off perfectly. Mine did not! :-)
In the end, I still married the man of my dreams and that's all that matters... but it's still frustrating to see things that I worked so hard to plan fall apart. So here's my list: Had to fire my PA a couple of days before the wedding. She showed up at the groom's dinner and caused drama. Boo. You're fired. My day started off late. My alarm clock didn't go off! I was 30 minutes behind schedule from the get go. Not a good feeling. MoH who was supposed to help me with the set up of my photo booth bailed on me. Had to call in reinforcements. Boo. You're fired too. Forgot my fiance's gift at home. Had to send someone home to get it out of my UNDERWEAR drawer! The sand for our sand ceremony didn't fit in the jar. I measured it twice before the day of! WTH. Reception was beautiful - but decorator forgot the centerpieces. My cake was beautiful (or so I hear) for about 10 minutes. Bakery didn't put dowels in it to hold it up.. so it was the leaning tower from the get go. Our photographer got a picture before it had to be taken apart - but I never saw my cake in one piece. We also didn't get to do eating the cake photos - they cut the cake too soon. No one could hear the dinner music I painstakingly picked out. Poor sound system. Boo. The best man (grooms brother) made very embarrassing sexual remarks about my husband. Most people thought it was funny. We thought it was tacky. I just wanted some class. DJ didn't play most of my requested music.. we would have had more people dancing if he had. Bar didn't shut down the open bar when they were supposed to. Cost us an additional $500 we weren't counting on. That's about it though. The day was fun and enjoyable in spite of those things. And I still have my wonderful husband's shoulder to beat my head against in frustration. How about you? Any disasters in your wedding day? Or someone else's you know? |

The Big Day
Tomorrow is my big day!
Well.. it seems that things are coming together and tomorrow I will be married! I've had so little time to even breathe this week much less sign on and post.. so I'm excited and completely exhausted! I know adrenaline will be keeping on my feet tomorrow. Our guests are arriving today, We decorate the church at 2:30 and then the rehearsal at 5:30.. beautiful grooms dinner at 7. A little partying to start the celebration and then home to
organize for the morning! I'm so very excited!! Thank you to all of those who have been so supportive and kind through the journey! Good luck to all the other Sept 22 brides.. and beyond! ~Wendy |

12 Days!
12 Days until my wedding -- ahhhhhgggghh!!!
I'm officially stressing out.. I know, I shouldn't be.. things are pretty much in order. I just have minor things to do yet like print out the programs and the escort cards. But I'm not sleeping well, and I've been working so much that it's wearing on me! I haven't even had time to post pics of my creations lately. So taking a deep breath, and jumping into the day to attempt and get a few more things accomplished so I can try to relax the last few days and enjoy!

25 Days!
Getting there.. stopped stressing
Hello girls,
I've finally stopped stressing and started enjoying things.. I've knocked many many things off of my To Do list the past 2 weeks and things are looking well organized for the big day. I'll have to post some pics of my creations soon.. but I'm working double shifts on top of everything else and there just isn't time! I'm working on my aisle runner this week.. monogramed and flowered. I'll post pics when it's done. Only yucky thing right now is that I can't get my DJ to email or call me and it's frustrating. Might have to find a new one?? We'll see.. Time to go "stalk" my fellow brides :-) |

My bouquets are done!
I FINALLY just took a deep breath and dove into the bouquets.. Here are some pics.
Red ones - obviously mine! :o) The black and whites are my BMs, the white with the red handles are my daughters'. I also got my ring bearer's bout done too.. I feel better now that I got this major task done.. on to the next!! |

Arggghhh!! 45 days! Anyone else feeling the pressure?
My work schedule is now crammed when I expected to have 2 weeks off! I'm in panic mode. I have so many things to do - projects, scheduling, decisions yet to be made... and the people who have offered to help aren't available to help at this point for verious reasons either. Anyone else close to their wedding date and feeling the stress of lack of time or other pressure issues that aren't helping the planning process along??

I also forgot to mention in my PANIC post earlier.. the bridesmaides dresses were a complete and epic fail!! None of them fit properly and cannot be altered to look decent.. so we've moved on to plan B..
My ladies will all be going down the aisle in a simple black reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. We found them on ebay for $44 - can't beat the price. They'll be great with the slingback shoes everyone already has, faster delivery and cheaper than anything at Davids Bridal. It's been a challenging week.. let me tell ya! :-) |
