Ultimate Bouquet Wrap
I have been trying to incorporate some sparkle to my bouquet wrap.. either going all sparkly wrap, or adding a brooch... but I think this is it. Since I'm using these darn crystals all over my shoes and other things.. why not?? Hopefully I can find a pretty S to print and copy onto my bouquet wrap to get this effect.
Here's my question: my wedding is black & ivory with red flower accents. My bouquet is solid red roses. What color should I use for the letter on this wrap? Red or Black? Votes please! |

Antique shop find!
I am so excited!! I've had my eye on a cake stand on Ebay for a month.. very pretty, vintage looking.. but the cost was $99. It was missing 2 crystals on top of it.. and I just couldn't spend the money. It went down to $89.. no buyers. $79... no buyers. I emailed the owner and offered $40 because of the missing pieces. She declined.
The next day I'm browsing in my favorite antique shop.. and what do I find? The EXACT same cake stand!! In mint condition!! The price tag?? $22!! I screamed -- literally :-) I then immediately purchased it and here it is. The photos don't do it justice.. but you get the idea. |

Tux fitting #1 Done
Fiance and I had picked out the tux for him already, but we were supposed to have a fitting with Tux Shop #1 - they didn't order the vests we wanted to see on, didn't bother to tell us that fact before we came in for the appointment, and then never followed up with us after that to offer an apology or anything. if they're already this full of issues just getting the groom fitted, what's going to happen later when it counts? Not happy!!
So we went to a different tux shop, picked everything out all over again and we're much happier. It all went super smooth. |

I haven't really had to compromise anything that I've wanted yet.. but my fiance really prefers the round cake to the square one.. so I'm going with it. A friend of mine found the cake I want on Pinterest - so here it is! I also found the ornate cake stand that I've been looking for as well. I really love the roses mixed in the layers and it gives it more height making it look more elegant.
Still can't decide on cake flavors.. I hate being ordinary. Our baker has a root beer flavored one that is awesome.. but I love root beer. Fiance wants a chocolate layer (booorrrinnnng...) :-) Anyone else thinking of having a wild cake flavor? |

Maid of honor woes...
I've read so many horror stories on this board and thought, "I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of those bridesmaid issues!"
Here I am, 5 months before the wedding with a few of the same woes. My maid of honor has been less than supportive the past few months, and it's very sad. This is supposed to be my best friend, only lately she hasn't been. It started in November when we had to move. We used to live in apartment buildings that were next to each other. We found a house and moved across town, and she was upset that I 'left her". It's been a spiral of negative comments and such ever since, which came to a head on her birthday when I took her out for martinis. Alcohol is/can be "truth serum" for her, and after quite a few martinis, she spewed many of her thoughts at me. Some of it was very hurtful. The worst part? She doesn't remember any of it, and I remember all of it. I've tried to get some alone time with her to discuss things, but it hasn't worked out. If all of these things that were said really are truths, then I'm not sure we're as good of friends as I thought we were anyway. In the meantime, I have finally gotten to ask my final bridesmaid to join in the fun! This lady has been so supportive and helpful and a very dear and loyal friend. She deserves to be a bridesmaid and is thrilled to a part of the wedding. She has made up for all of the crap. I just needed to vent it somewhere. So there's my vent... thanks for listening! |
