Ours is at 3:00 with a 6:00 reception. I wanted an evening ceremony, but we are having the wedding at a Theatre, and they have a show that night. So I chose an earlier time to get the venue I wanted. :)
our wedding ceremony will start at 4:00 p.m. then the reception will start at 6:00 p.m. :D we chose that time because there is a couple people who work in the morning so we decided to do it at that time lol :D
We're having our wedding outside, so our time is going to depend on sunset. It's in March in Florida, so the ceremony is probably going to be between 5:15 and 5:45. Specific, but having the sunset to the side of our ceremony is going to be awesome!! I originally wanted the ceremony at dusk so we could have lighting all around the tree outside, but local laws say noise ends at 10 :( We would only have maybe 4 hours for everything.
we choose an evening ceremony, with a reception to immediately follow, we are going to do a first look and photos before earlier in the afternoon when everyone is still freshly made up, then touch up and party with our guests!
Our ceremony is at 6:00pm and the reception will start at 7:30pm. It will be a short half hour ceremony. We opted for the evening because it will be cooler outside and the wedding theme is Circus and Lights. So there will be fire eaters and fireworks. The illusions and lights are better in the dark rather than in the day time.
We had our ceremony at 6, cocktail hour at 7, dinner and dancing at 8pm (if I remember correctly), all at the same location. That meant that our guests didn't have find find something to do for a few hours between events. And the lighting was very nice for our ceremony and cocktail hour which were both outside.
I went to a wedding a few years back with a 4 hours wait between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. It was a black tie event. We ended up stranded for 4 hours just waiting and getting drunk at the bar because were dressed up so well that we couldn't really just go to a movie or something. There were actually a lot of wedding guests all sitting around getting drunk with us. So I would recommend considering what your guests will do if you have a big break between the two events. Something to consider as you schedule!
fh and i are getting married on the 10th anniversary of his brother's death. We are both catholic and there is a saint who said that 3pm is the hour of mercy because it is the same hour that Christ died... so our ceremony is at 3pm :)
I'm hoping we will be doing a 11:00 a.m or 12:00noon wedding. I want us to do a luncheon instead of a dinner? Not sure yet. Thought about 1:00 wedding and 3:00 reception so the reception can be over by 7:00 and then we can have a crazy after party afterwards with our wild and crazy guests.
