What Would you do?
My husband and I are traveling back to Georgia to
celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We have had several dinner request and invites from our friends. Almost all of our friends know one another and all of them were guest at our wedding.. I suggested to my husband that we have 1 big dinner with everyone. I was thinking about reserving the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner and sending out invite's for everyone to attend. I am talking about 8 couples. 9 including me and my husband. I will create and invitation on evite.com and email them out. Informing all the couples about the dinner, time and place. I will also include in the invitation that each couple will be responsible for their own meal including gratuity. I was telling my husband that if we do it this way then we can cure all the dinner request in one setting. AND SAVE $$$. He does not think that it's a good idea. He is concerned about people only communicating with who they know. And he thinks that it will probably end up being a "clique" type event. I am thinking that all these people are mature and they know how to mingle. I am talking ages ranging from +40 to 60 years old. And they are collectively coming to dinner with us. Please tell me what you think. IS THIS A GOOD IDEA? |

My 1st anniversary
My very 1st wedding anniversary is coming up in a month. My husband and I are planning to have dinner in Savannah at the Mansion 700 resturant. We were married at the Mansion on Forsyth in Savannah Georgia and the 700 resturant catered the plated dinner for our reception. The food was absolutely fantastic.
I am trying to decide what will be the perfect attire for this celebration. ai found this dress online at david's bridal and the shoes are a'knock off" Louboutins. Our wedding colors were blue and silver, so I am thinking about going with our theme colors and ordering the dress in cornflower. What do you all think about my choice? Or if you have seen anything out there that looks pretty please let me know. Thanks: ) ps. not really sure why the dress picture is showing up so funky looking. |

Does he give gifts then talks about them
Okay ladies I have a big question. Does yor husband, FH, finance,boyfriend give you gifts then talk about them?
Here is my situation. My husband always gives me gifts (expensive gifts). But everytime we have a heated discussion(argument) he throws up in my face what he buys me, how much it cost....... This man has a great job, I'm talking 6+ figures. he can afford it. I on the other hand cannot. I am a full time student. Yes i have a little $$$. But not nearly what he gross. When we exchange gifts he says that I do not put any thought into the gifts that I give him. Well I think that the gifts that i give are nice, no they don't cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars but they are nice quality gifts. Gift that most times he does not even use. This makes me feel that he does not appreciate them. Example, I bought him a nice gold bracelet. No occasion, just because I was surfing the net saw it and wanted to give it to him. He has never even worn the bracelet and when I gave it to him he looked at it said thanks, did not even try it own and put it in his jewerly draw. Exaample #2 His birthday was in September, I bought him a $3000. lap top computer. Yes i could have found one much cheaper but this was the brand that he had been looking at so I got it for him. Well he says that I "did not put any thought into his gift" he said I bought him something that he was already going to get for himself. WTF!!! I'm thinking at least he did not have to spend his money on it. Another example, after his shower, he usually wraps his towel around his waist and lounge for a little bit. SO, I bought him a terry shower wrap. So he would not have to set around in the damp towel. That "MF" called it a cheap wash cloth. AAUGHHHHHH....... Finally after a long heated discussion tonight I told him that I think that it would be best if we don't give each other gift. Now he is pissed at me for saying that. What do I do? I told him that I was tired of his mouth, and I bought my own gifts before I met and married him and I could certainly continue spoiling myself. I am sorry ladies I am really PISSED and needed to vent. Thanks for listening. |

It's My Birthday
Today is my birthday.
My husband has planned a nice romantic dinner for the 2 of us. I appreciate him and his efforts but I am kinda sad because I am so far away from my Children and family. I am in Hong Kong and my family is in Georgia. I am so use to spending my birthday with my kids but this one will be very non-traditional. Any--who Happy 47th Birthday to me. |

Lending money to family members
 glitter-graphics.com Okay ladies I need some advice or confirmation to my decision. My younger sister is trying to buy a home. She emailed me stating that she was depressed because she is having one hurdle after another with the process. Well she is set to close on her house this week and she does not have the money for the closing cost. A little history about my sister. She is one of the most s elfish people you ever want to meet. She does nothing for no one unless there is something in it for her. There has been numerous times that I have came through for her and each time she has given me her ass to kiss in return. I have been married for 8 months. I asked for her and her 16 year old daughter to be in my wedding. She accepted then2 days before it was time to pay the deposit for the dress she sends me and emai stating "I don't want to be apart of no wedding". Well this truly hurt me because as i said I have been there for her numerous times, when she got married 7 years ago and ran out of money to finish paying for her wedding i stepped in and helped her with the cost of completion. (she is now divorced) And after the wedding was over we had a GREAT big disagreement over her paying me back. Needless to say we stopped speaking over that for a long while. Anyway not only did she back out of my wedding, several people came to me with emails telling me how she was talking about me and my FH. (remember I moved from Ga to HK with my FH). I was pretty angry with her and I did not invite her to my wedding. Well she crashed it. My wedding was invitation only, not only did she come to the wedding but she took a place card off the table of someone that did not show and she invited herself into our reception dinner.Never did she say congradulations, the wedding was nice, or anything. Well now she emails me acting like nothing has ever happened and she asked me to lend her $4000 for the closing cost on her home. She said that she will pay me back in Jan when she gets her student loan. (she works fulltime and is a fulltime student) I talked this over with my husband at great lenghts. and I told her that I could not help her, that I was not working and I could not lend her that large amount of money. Then she emails me back stating that she borrowed the money from someone else but she needed for me stand with a check for her at the Closing attorny office and she will deposit the money into my account. Well my thought was if you have the money why can't you just put in into her account or have the bank issue her a cashier's check. she told me t hat the lender told her that the money could not come from her bank account. Well I have never heard of this, so again I told her that I could not do it. That I was sorry that it's not personal just business and I had to protect my assets. Any suggestions as to what I should do? |
