Ask a Question
Professional Wedding Photos. What else can I do?

My husband and I had a destination wedding.
Our wedding was April 26,2009 in Savannah GA.
We secured a wedding photographer,(Cobblestone Photography), interviewed the photographer, recieved a contract,
paid for the pictures as stated in the contract,
pictures were taken at the wedding.
Well it is almost 4 months since my wedding and we have no professional wedding pictures yet.
I have sent numerous emails to the photographer,
most of them have gone unanswered.
When she did answer she said that she had been sick
and in the hospital with "complication from diabetes"
She promised to upload the pictures that evening and
send a link for us to view the pictures. That was about a month
ago. And we have not recieved anything.
My husband recently called her and spoke with
her about the pictures, she appoligized, offered us a free
photo session, and promised to
upload the pictures on a site that day and, send
us a email to the the link and also promised to
put them in the mail to us. That was a week ago
and still nothing. I have since tried calling her again
and even sent several emails with no response.
I and at a lost now, I don't know exactly what to
do about our wedding pictures. I have emailed
her every day, pleading with her and almost begging
her for our pictures and she won't answer my emails.
I have also emailed her partner, which is her sister.
still no answer from either of them.
I have even asked a family member to go by her studio
and see if she could pick up the photos for me,
but each time she has went there, no one has been
at the studio.
So what do I do?
My husband says that since we live so far away
(we live in China) all we can do is wait, hope and
pray that the photographer will take the time to send
our pictures. I am so upset about this situation,
I have been crying for the past 3 days because
I want my wedding pictures. I really don't know what to do.
I did a google search to see how long it takes to get
professional wedding pictures and what I found says
that pictures should be uploaded within 3 days and you
should recieve professional pictures in 7-10 days with the
longest time being 3 weeks. I checked the contract
and to my surprise there is no time frame as to when we
are to recieve the professional pictures.
It has been 4 months, since my wedding and still no pictures
How much longer do I have to wait?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Wow! I'm shocked.

Since you have a contract - signed, paid for and the services were rendered you could seek legal action. I don't know how you would go about it since you live in China. But I would look into it if I were you.  I suggest going on allexperts.com and send this to one of the experts - exactly as you have it typed here. They will get back to you within 2 days with advice on how to proceed.

WOW this is just absolutely crazy!!  We just got married on 8/7/09 and our photographer told us upfront that it might be 3-4 weeks before we get our photos, but that's because this week he's on vacation!!  And of course we're not the only wedding he's done lately, since the summer is a very busy time for weddings...so when he gets back from his vacation he'll be busy getting other people's wedding photos ready for them as well, not just us!!  So I asked him since it would take a little while if we could please at least have a few photos of us holding our "Thank You" signs so that we could at least mail out our thank you cards soon and not have to wait until we get the rest of our pictures 3-4 weeks from now, and he was more than happy to e-mail some of them to us!!!  So I think this has gone on WAY too long by now...4 months just sounds absolutely ridiculous to me, regardless if she did spend some time in the hospital or not!!!  I definitely agree that legal action might be one of your only options at this point!!!  I'm soo sorry to hear about all of this sweetie...good luck and please let us know how everything turns out!! ;-)

I agree look at ways to recover the photos from her!! This absolutely crap and there's no reason for the pics to take this long.

Hope you get them without anymore hassles!!
