But did you know this rhyme is merely the beginning of bridal superstitions and doesn't include all of them. What has come to be viewed as the traditional wedding dress "white" is a recent invention. Up until the Victorian Times brides decked themselves out in color. It was thought brides were entering in to new chapter of their life. It was the upper class who came up with the crazy exhibit of their wealth to wear a beautiful dress once. Unlucky brides made there own dresses, it was even more unlucky for her to see herself in her dress. Premature viewing was something that could prevent the marriage! Only when a bride to go to the ceremony could she view herself. The color of the gown was deemed critical in the marriage. A white wedding dress contrary to what we have read had little to do with virginity. Have a white dress is a modern superstition. Color in wedding dresses White - A clad bride who advertised her happiness, not purity. Black - Nothing should be worn black in wedding, it was thought to bring risk to the bride to become a widow. Green - Unfortunate color associated with fairies. Its wearings fortold a change into clothes of mourning. Green was forbidden even in food, no green vegetables. Purple - Considered out because it was favored by widows in their 2nd year of bereavement. Color in Poetry Married in white You have chosen right Married in Green Ashamed to be seen Married in Red Wish yourself dead Married in Blue You will always be true Married in Yellow Ashamed of your fellow Married in black You will wish yourself back Married in pink Of you he'll think]]> Motorcycles! - Take a break and enjoying the day http://www.weddingbycolor.com/wifewag/milestones/38883 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/wifewag/milestones/38883 Sun, 28 Dec 2008 19:29:00 PST Artistic Dividers Well since my FH is an ex Motocross Racer. A court in Australia has approved the use of Facebook, a popular social networking Web site, to notify a couple that they lost their home after defaulting on a loan. The Australian Capital Territory Supreme Court last Friday approved lawyer Mark McCormack's application to use Facebook to serve the legally binding documents after several failed attempts to contact the couple at the house and by e-mail. Australian courts have given permission in the past for people to be served via e-mail and text messages when it was not possible to serve them in person. McCormack, a lawyer for the lender the couple borrowed from, said that by the time he got the documents approved by the court late Tuesday for transmission, Facebook profiles for the couple had disappeared from public view. The page was apparently either closed or secured for privacy, following publicity about the court order. "It's somewhat novel, however we do see it as a valid method of bringing the matter to the attention of the defendant," McCormack said. Good thing I am in California. Mine was good, I had been sick in recent days, ended up at the hospital with a sinus infection and ear infection in both ears - lovely. But even on antibiotics, it was good to spend the holiday with my Dad who isn't in the best health in past months. There was 15 of us and 4 dogs. So the house was little crazy. We took a stroll down to the lake to let the dogs play and hang out. We actually took a short drive to the Indian Gaming Casino for a little slot machine action and a drink (picture shown) Then we headed back to the house for some Liars Dice, NFL Football and some holiday drinks. My Stepmom had a new idea to try out this year, she decorated the backyard in white Christmas lights and we had dinner outside.
