Wedding Dress
I found it!
My mom and sister came down from Wisconsin the first weekend in April and we went dress shopping. I went thinking, this will be a good time to get some ideas for my dress, since I had a specific type of dress I thought I wanted, tea length and untraditional!
We started off at House of Brides. I found some nice dresses there. The one with the black ribbon around my waist was a contender. My mom and sister loved this dress on me. And I have to agree the dress did flatter me, but it just wasn't me (plus if someone stepped on this dress while bowling, it would have been a goner.) I tried on a few more. I have included the pictures here. So on we went to David's. What a crazy mess this place is. I couldn't get anyone to help me and it seemed like all the dresses were the same, especially in the larger sizes. Has anyone else noticed that? I ended up buying my dress at Demetrios Brides in Schaumburg! Great place! Friendly and helpful people! Relaxed enviroment (Very important!) The dress I picked was the third one I had tried on at this place. And the lady who was helping me, mentioned that it was normally the third dress that is the final pick! I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on! I then tried on the tiara and veil (which I thought I didn't want!) and the look was complete! I was so happy! I did end up spending quite a bit more on the dress than I really wanted, but it's only one day right? Orginally I planned on only spending around $500, but my ending bill there was close to $1500 with the tiara and veil! I did find my dress on the discontinued rack and there was only one in my size! I am still waiting on it to come in, but it will be here soon enough! |

Ask a Question
Is anyone else planning a wedding that is a bit quirky?
I want to have a fun and unique wedding and my fiancee agreed. And I thought what better way to have that, then at the bowling alley?
To give you a bit of background Steve and I met at a bowling alley back in January of 2007. We both were on a league, just on different teams. Some of my friends decided to add me to their bowling team. And of course I didn't know until last minute, but decided it would be fun, so I went. And there is where I met the man of my dreams and then some! So I thought, why not have our wedding at the alley? Of course my mom will not allow me to get married there, but what a great place for a reception? Is anyone else planning on having an unusual wedding or reception? |
