Welcome back...
Back on track...
Life is slowly returning to normal... school is settling down (Sept was a bit of a nightmare!) and now the countdown is on! We have nearly 100 days left until the big day, and there is still so much to do!
My biggest piece of homework is to get my addresses on the invites and get them in the mail. The guest list has grown astronomically, and I think we can expect about 300 people at the wedding now. Yikes. The gym is becoming a better place to be- I wish I had time to go tonight! I have so much extra-curricular in September and October, and it's hard to find the time to work out. This week will be challenging. I think if volleyball is done at a "decent" time (If I can get to town before 8:30), then I will go for a workout- I am away for a tournament this weekend so there will be no time then. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday for sure. My goal this week was five workouts, or 3500 calories- whichever comes first. Last weekend was a great success- I fell just 500 calories short of my goal, and while the diet today has been HORRIBLE (at meetings), I think I've actually lost a couple pounds this week. So yeah me! More later... back to work! |

"Nothing worth doing in life is ever easy"
My mantra for the week...
I've been back at the gym this week- Saturday went for a run on the treadmill, and Sunday I did Level 2 of my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred- I forgot how hard it was! Today I was back at the gym- little bit of running, and some abs- I weighed in this morning at 140 lbs, so that pretty much made the whole day terrible... I feel like I've really let myself go this summer, and I'm trying so hard to stay positive, but it's hard! I'm sure that since Mark and I started dating three years ago, I weighed about 15 pounds less than I do now. I need to have a little mantra to keep myself away from the snacks and treats... I have five months and honestly, about 20 pounds to go... I must stay motivated! Wish me luck... |

Getting on the Fitness bandwagon!
Well, like nearly every bride out there, I want to look amazing on the big day! I have five months to get in better shape, and I think if I blog about my progress, it will help to keep me on track. There are lots of other brides blogging about weight loss and fitness, so good luck to all of you- hopefully there is strength in numbers!
Food has always been my downfall; I loooove food, and I have a weakness for bread, cheese, chocolate... mmm! Just need to start eating "clean"-- Jillian Michaels says that "if it didn't come from the ground or have a mother, it's not real food". So, I think I need to have that tattooed on my hand so every time I pick up a fork I think about that! If I can get control of the food (emotional eating, eating because I'm bored..), then the weight loss will be so much easier. Of course, I have the wedding as motivation- the dress fits great, but I want to feel healthy- Jackie Warner (incredible trainer) says that you want to feel good first, then look good. I think for myself, feeling good is the goal- when I am out of shape (like right now), I feel a little depressed and grumpy; when I am working out regularly, I feel so amazing. I think if I keep thinking about that good feeling, I will be more motivated. It's really about so much more than "the dress"- it's a lifestyle change that will have life-long results! My weight has fluxuated for many years; I've gone from a size 10 to a 4, and now I'm about a 6/7... I like to run and have finished 2 marathons and 4 half marathons, but finding the time to run is tough. But I am very determined, and I have a gym membership- I just need to use it! I need to get away from excuses and make myself a priority- committment to your man and to planning your wedding is important, but it's just as important to commit to youself and to being healthy. So, I'm off to the gym, ladies- I'll keep ya posted!! ttyl |

5 months to go... there are so many things to do... overwhelming!
Our wedding is five months away (five months on Sunday). I am a little freaked out, because there are still a lot of things to do... just have to do them! I know it will all get done evenutally, but when you see it all on paper, it's daunting!!

Getting things done...
Slowly but surely! I picked up some pink m & ms when I was in the city this weekend, and they are super cute! I really like them, and when the breast cancer m & ms come out (hopefully next month in advance of October's Breast Cancer awareness month) I will stock up! The candies I bought this weekend came from a candy store, and they were kind of expensive (but delicious!). I really wanted a candy bar, but we will wrap up some m&ms in white tulle with black and pink ribbons for each guest. I think it will be a bit more cost-effective.
I also visited our local rental shop today- they have frosty white trees for rent! Woohoo! I thought they only had three trees, but they have 21- so I'm thrilled- I plan to group them in threes and string them with white lights. So happy- now I don't need to make them! I'll still paint the branches for the tables- the rental shop has some but I'll do a few more! I put down a deposit for my vases, table runners, backdrop... I feel so good about getting stuff done! I also found some really lovely hanging crystals (only $1 to rent), and I would love to find a way to use them too- maybe hanging from a pomander on a tall vase... My little wedding brain is going full-tilt, but I need to get some school work done- back to work this week! Ttyl!! |

Wedding Invitation
Ready to order invites... I think!!
Well, I am back to work next Thursday, and of course, I'm avoiding my school work by checking out WBC! I want to order my invites by the end of the month (I think we're done adding to the guest list- at last), and I need some input on the invites. I know it looks a lot like a Save the Date, but we like the look of a more informal invite! This is just me playing around on Publisher, and I will get the printers to make the "real" invite, but I thought I would get some input from you ladies! I really like it- it will be a little bigger than post-card sized when it is printed. Let me know if you think it's okay. Thanks ladies!!

Card Box
Wahoo!! It's done!!
Well, I am finally becoming crafty! I finished the card box last night, and I love it! It's just what I wanted, and it was much easier than I thought it would be! I'm glad it's out of the way, and I feel more hopeful about other DIYs in the future. Tell me what ya think!

Guest List
How many people is too many??
So, my plan is to order my invitations by the end of August- I hope that's not too early! I'm not sending them out till the first week of October (I think), but I want to have them ready to go- September is a very busy month for me with going back to work (I'm a teacher), coaching volleyball and cross-country, and with FH's family harvesting (14,000 acres- wow); it's easier if we can get some stuff out of the way.
We've been trying to finalize the guest list so we have an idea of how many invites to order, but the list keeps growing and growing... we live in a small farming community, and of course everyone knows Mark and his family. Right now, the list is at about 320 people, and that number kind of freaks me out. I know there are many who won't be able to come- January can be an unpredictable time for travel- but we're tentatively planning for 275-300 guests. Yowza. We're not doing a supper because it's an evening wedding, but we're doing a "midnight lunch" at 10:00. I think it's time to cap it! Is anyone else having trouble with their guest lists? I want to make sure I include everyone! Any teachers- are you inviting your students or your students' families? So far, they're not on the list- I don't know if I should include them or not! Any advice would be welcome- thanks, ladies- you always have the best input! |

Photo guest book- what are you doing??
I love Picaboo software (free download to your computer); I used it to make a photobook for my FH of our trip last summer. I've always wanted to do a photo guest book, and this program makes great products! I've already made a photo guestbook with some of our engagement pics, and I'm just waiting to order it- it's about 50 dollars, which I think is kind of a lot of money for a guestbook! Just wondering if any of you ladies are doing something similiar, and if so, how much are you spending? Our book is about 30 pages- about 13 pages for messages and signatures, and the rest is photos. Thanks for you input!
