Umbrellas
Since my wedding is in April there is a good chance of it raining! I purchased parasols to use in wedding pictures, but I also had to have a backup plan in case of actual rain. I tried searching at Kohls, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. for a decent color umbrella that wouldn't clash with our wedding colors, but couldn't find anything decent.
I changed my search plan to search under "golf umbrellas" to limit my search to the larger size umbrellas and instantly I found this amazing website: http://golfumbrella.com/. And the best part is the umbrellas are only $8.95 for a 60" umbrella! That is WAY less expensive than anywhere else I was looking for less than mediocore color selections! They don't have a feature to order online, so I e-mailed them for a quote including shipping. We'll see if it's too good to be true or not! |

Honeymoon
Our honeymoon resort has been booked! My parents gave us their timeshare as a wedding present and we exchanged it for the Dreams La Romana Resort and Spa in the Dominican Republic. I've never been outside the United States before so this will be a first for me! The resort is all-inclusive and has lots to do so I'm excited! We will be honeymooning in December.

Wedding Hair Style
I know I want my hair half down and half up for the wedding. I've been growing my hair out since we got engaged (actually since before we got engaged) so I'd feel bad pulling it all back.
Here are my inspiration ideas. I haven't scheduled my trial run yet, but will post pictures after I get that off my checklist! I also posted my headband that I will wear as a tiara and the pearl bobby pins I purchased to accent in my hair. I'm going to be decked out in pearls and I can't wait! Flower Girl & Ring Bearer
One of the first purchases I made after we got engaged was the ring bearer bowl. The bowl is a unique idea because it can be hung on the wall after the wedding as a keepsake. We will be using ribbon colors that match our wedding colors (brown & pink) to tie the rings to the bowl.
Not too long after purchasing the ring bearer bowl I also purchased the flower girl basket. I knew I wanted something in ivory and with pearl details, and etsy came through for me! Ring Bearer Tuxes
We picked out our tuxes for our groomsmen and the tuxes for the 2 ring bearers (age 2 and almost 4) were the SAME PRICE as the adult tuxes! My sister found some less expensive online so we will be getting them for less than half the price it would have been to rent tuxes!

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Ryan and I went to pick out our wedding bands last week. Since my engagement ring is a little unique my wedding band is going to need some customization. Our jeweler (and long-time friend) e-mailed me the design today!
I don't have a picture of Ryan's, but it will be a 6mm tungsten ring with a stone finish (similar to the ring pictured). |
