Re-Thinking Invitations!
VistaPrint???
Ok...So a few posts ago I was all excited about finding my wedding invitations...they were beautiful but costly- too costly for me. I was thinking that people will just keep the invitations a while and then may throw away! So I ordred a Vistaprint wedding invitation sample pack. I was very impressed with the quality and of course the cost! Which if I went this route- would be a $500 savings!! Who doesn't want that?
I have used Vistaprint in the past for various reasons and have never been disappointed. What do you guys think??? |

Pre-Marital Counseling?
Ladies,
I just had to share. We went to our first and only 8 hour pre-marital workshop here in our city. It is offered for free and for attending, you receive a certificate for $45 off a marriage licence, making the license only $5. Incentive to go, right?? However, we learned sooooooo much more. My FH was so reluctant at first because he feels no one can tell us about our relationship but us, but said afterwards, how it served as affirmation about how truly blessed he is to have me as his future wife!! He said he learned so much and is so glad we went! I prayed this morning before we went, that our experience would be eye-opening and that we would receive valuable information...and we did! Are you going to counseling or have you been? What did you think? |

Last of the Save-the-Dates OUT!!
My fiance finallllly gave me his uber revised guest list!! So...our Save the Dates are officially all gone!! So excited! We finished addressing them together last night. He turned and looked at me and said "We accomplished something together" I busted out laughing! I was like "Yes, WE did"

I think I found my FLORIST!!
I decided to step out of the box...or my bougie comfort zone and try an unassuming florists that a fellow bride recommended. I had also seen this , well, EVENTS specialists ads and decided to check her out. Upon arriving , my inner snob came out but I decided to go in anyway. As the lady was helping someone else, my inner snob got bigger and bigger as I browsed through the cluttered shop. When it was my turn....I began asking a million questions to which she had a million answers. I saw pictures of her work, trade shows she had attended as well as store displays. I guess she could tell I was still a little skeptical because she told me to come back Saturday and she would have TWO bouquet and kissing ball samples for me! Now that is customer service! Even better...we wrote out the order I would need...bridal bouquet (2 dozen Real flowers); grooms boutonniere (real), 2 father boutonnieres (real), 2 mom's wrist corsages (real) 7 kissing balls for bridesmaids, roses or carnations (silk/real touch); 7 silk touch cala boutonnieres for the groomsmen. We both agreed none of the wedding party is going to care about their "real" flowers....they will just toss them...and the parents, bride and groom should get the "treat' of having beautiful flowers. I was so pumped when I left....all this....and delivery to the site on the day of the wedding..$400!!!

Heart Cylinder Bubbles!!!
I am super excited!! I just found the cylinder heart bubbles that I have seen sold on efavormarket.com, weddingfavormart.com and Oriental Trading Company at....wait for it ...wait for it...DOLLAR TREE!!!!! The EXACT same cylinder heart that reads "Just Married" in white script! Super nice!! So happy!! I spent a whopping $20 for 144!! I basically took their entire stock that was on display!! I just need 3 more bags...so $3 more dollars!!
I think I may tie some purple thin organza ribbon around each?? Or no?? SUPER HAPPY!!! I have seen these go for as much as $40 for the quantity I need! |

Wedding Dress
I said "YES TO THE DRESS"
Yaay! I did it, I did it- or I should say WE did it! I have been going to a few local bridal shops and kept coming back to one in particular. Last time my mother and I were in the shop, she pointed out a dress that I just breezed by. After trying on about 7 dresses, when my rep placed this over my head, EVERYONE in the shop heard me immediately scream "OH MY GOODNESS! I love it!" Hahaha! I was a very happy girlie last night. All of the shop attendants said I was the best bride they had worked with in a long time because I was so much fun and bubbly! No Bridezilla here!! No need to be!!
I will post pics of my actual dress when I get it in during the final fitting....in August! LOLOL |

Found my Wedding Invitations!!
A friend of mine referred me to a local source and I am so happy she did! I had ordered so many samples online and was disappointed in the quality once I felt and saw them. But not these!
I am ordering something VERY similar to the above envelopment but the background will be more gunmetal metallic with the silver plumes throughout! I am so excited! Oh and the wording will be in a very elegant font ...something that began with a "B"...lol! I even dreamed about these invitaitons! The ink will be a beautiful charcoal too! Best part- no up front monies are due! I can just pay when I pick them up in JULY or August!! |

Just wanted to share! I haven't been on here in a while! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a great flow chart to decide whom to invite to your wedding. Check it out! It sounds harsh to cut from your guest list sometimes, this could help! You do have to make sure you aren't stepping on toes or burning bridges. Remember it IS your wedding - you want it to be wonderful, un-awkward, & for everyone to have a good time! :) Don't worry though. The people who would get mad cause they aren't invited to your "small wedding" or they don't understand why they weren't invited... is the kind of bitterness you don't want at your wedding anyhow! |

Happy New Year!!
The coundown officially begins. It seems like I have said that before, but since today is January 1, 2012 I know October will be here before I know it!! I am super excited. I plan to focus on getting myself together physically and spiritually while I go on this journey. So excited for what this year will bring!!

Our colors have changed but I believe my final color choices are gunmetal, deep royal purple and platinum. I think....I know I want gunmetal to be the base!
